I found Kaelen in our dream forest.
The golden light filtered through emerald leaves, casting dappled shadows across the moss-covered ground. Our secret place, created by our bond and sustained by my powers, had become a refuge—especially since I'd been confined to bed rest after my surgery and difficult pregnancy.
"There you are," I called out, spotting him by our favorite oak tree.
He turned, his green eyes brightening at the sight of me. Here, in the dreamscape, I could move freely without the constant hovering and worried looks. Here, I wasn't the fragile Luna carrying the future king.
"Couldn't wait for me to fall asleep naturally?" he asked, his lips curving into that half-smile that still made my heart skip.
I closed the distance between us, pressing my body against his. "I missed you."
His arms came around me automatically, strong and secure. "You saw me three hours ago when I brought you dinner."
