Kaelen's POV
"What do you mean she's not answering her phone?" I demanded, watching my brother pace the length of our bunker's main room like a caged animal. Five days had passed since Ronan and Lyra had mated, and now Lyra was nowhere to be found.
"I mean exactly what I said," Ronan growled, his eyes flashing between human and wolf. "I've called her forty-three times. Sent twenty-eight texts. She's gone, Kaelen."
Sera stepped between us, her hand coming to rest gently on Ronan's arm. "I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation, Ronan. Lyra wouldn't just disappear without saying anything."
"It's been five fucking days!" Ronan's voice cracked. I'd never seen my brother this unhinged, not even after our mother died. "Five days since she left to 'tie up loose ends' at her clinic. She was supposed to come back that night."
"Have you checked her apartment?" I asked, already knowing the answer but needing to cover all bases.
