I sat in one of the bunker's small conference rooms, my fingers drumming against the scratched metal table as Kaelen paced behind me. Maps and strategic plans were spread across the table's surface, marked with various notations about troop movements and enemy positions.
"Tomorrow's the final day of the summit," I said, watching Kaelen's broad shoulders tense as he moved. "Do you think the alliance will hold?"
He turned to face me, his green eyes calculating. "Most of them, yes. The attack on the bridge strengthened our position rather than weakened it. Nothing unites wolves like a common enemy."
"Most of them?" I raised an eyebrow. "Who are you concerned about?"
Kaelen's jaw tightened. "Alpha Kael of the Thunderwood Pack has been... resistant. He's old guard—believes Silverholm should remain isolated from human affairs."
"Even with Valerius breaking the Secrecy Pact?" I asked incredulously.
