Chapter 3 - 3. Born in Rome

With the fusion of the Pokémon world and their world, the size of the planet has continued to expand. Even though it has been two hundred years, scientists have detected that the planet's size is still expanding, albeit much slower than at the beginning.

Due to this fusion, ruins and secret realms have appeared.

Ruins are rare and very mysterious, and every discovery from them can enhance people's understanding of Pokémon and promote technological development.

Ten years ago, a ruin suddenly appeared in the southern part of the Avalon State. The Avalon State Trainer Association immediately sent five Elites and ten top scientists to form an expedition to explore it, blocking the surrounding area to prevent spies from other countries from sneaking in.

From this relic, the expedition team brought out devices related to Pokémon transmission and more advanced Poké Ball production technology. For example, the Luxury Ball that appeared in recent years is a product of this technology.

Before that, Pokémon transmission technology was exclusively held by the United States across the ocean. Under their technological monopoly, they exchanged a large amount of resources and country-specific Pokémon with other nations.

Now that Avalon has acquired this technology, many countries unhappy with the United States' oppressive use of it are seeking cooperation with Avalon.

However, as the price of bringing out these technologies, three of the five Elite-level Trainers who entered died, and one Elite-level main Pokémon was almost entirely wiped out in battle.

Only one psychic-type Elite Trainer managed to bring the rest back using Teleport, but his Alakazam, which only used Teleport, suffered a severe decline in strength due to excessive use of psychic energy.

Why did they suffer such losses? Because they encountered the three legendary titans in the ruins, along with many high-level Pokémon.

Therefore, each exploration of the ruins represents a substantial reward but also poses extreme danger.

As for the secret realms, they are similar to the ruins, but the inhabitants of the secret realms are all Pokémon, and there is no technology within them.

Secret realms are divided into junior, high, and top levels. There are only five top secret realms in the entire Avalon Kingdom, where traces of legendary Pokémon and a large number of Pokémon have been found.

The top secret realms are strictly controlled by the Avalon Trainer Association. Unless you have made significant contributions to the country or achieved extraordinary feats, you are not eligible to enter.

Below the top secret realms are the advanced secret realms, which are more numerous. The entire Avalon Kingdom has 50 advanced secret realms.

Eighteen of these are very special, and all contain Pokémon with specific attributes.

For example, the secret realm of the Oreburgh Great Wall in Central City, where all life is steel-type Pokémon, is where the Avalon Trainer Association built a national gym.

The gym owner's duty is to guard the secret realm and prevent the Pokémon from escaping and disturbing human society. Of course, the Trainer Association also stationed an army at the gate of the secret realm.

If there is a riot among the Pokémon in the secret realm, relying solely on the National Gym Trainer is insufficient, and the army's cooperation is necessary.

Five years ago, there was a riot at Blue Lake, a high-level secret realm in Pearl City, Central South Province, where over 300,000 Pokémon rushed out, including seven Elite-level Pokémon and a dozen quasi-Elites.

As a result, nearly half of Pearl City was destroyed at that time, with countless casualties. The battle lasted for seven days before the Trainers repelled these Pokémon and successfully drove them back to the secret realm.

During that time, the owner of the Pearl City National Gym, a water-type Elite, was killed in the riot, along with three other Elites, not to mention the ordinary Trainers and Pokémon.

The National Gym is closely linked to this high-level secret realm. Although this high-level secret realm is dangerous, it offers countless resources and powerful Pokémon.

The owner of a national gym can enter and exit the advanced secret realm under strict regulations but cannot capture more than six Pokémon per year.

If the secret realm's Pokémon riot, the Gym must lead the response, which is an equivalent exchange.

Additionally, the other 32 high-level secret realms are controlled by major top universities and companies, with ownership belonging to the Avalon Country Trainer Association.

As for the junior secret realms, they are much less dangerous than the advanced ones.

Especially the primary secret realms, ordinary trainers can enter them after paying a fee ranging from 300,000 to 800,000.

Jack Green's family was influential here two hundred years ago. With the integration of the Pokémon world, the Avalon State Trainer Association was established.

At that time, the ancestors of the Green family had a very accurate vision and foresaw that the Avalon Trainer Association would become a huge organization, so they quickly brought all their family members to join.

After two hundred years of development, the Green family also has a certain influence within the Avalon Kingdom Trainer Association, and they even have a significant presence in Silver White Province. However, they remain very low-key, and most ordinary people are unaware of it.

Jack Green is also very low-key at school. No one knows that his father is a national-level gym owner and an Elite-level trainer.

Additionally, his grandfather is an Avalon Steel Elite.

There are currently more than 500 Elite Trainers registered in the Avalon Trainer Association, and eighteen Attribute Elites stand at the forefront of all Elite Trainers.

If you want to become a Fire Elite among the 18 Elites, you must collect 8 National Gym Badges, which serve two purposes.

One is to participate in the World Championships held every five years.

The second is for the Avalon Elite Challenge.

If you can win the championship, you will have the opportunity to challenge the 18 Attribute Elites. In a 6VS6 match, if you officially defeat one, you can replace them as the new Attribute Elite.

Therefore, Jack Green's grandfather is the No. 1 trainer standing above all steel trainers and is the top Elite trainer.

Grandpa is one of the 18 strongest Elites, his father is a national gym owner and Elite, and his mother is a senior breeder.

Rather than all roads leading to Rome, it's better to be born in Rome.

Jack Green was born directly in Rome. With such a family background, he sees the hope of becoming the strongest trainer.

After all, being a Trainer is a very expensive profession.

The market value of a Fire Stone is over one million, and if the purity is high enough, the value can exceed ten million.

If it were replaced with a Moon Stone or Sun Stone, extremely rare evolution stones, the price would be over fifty million.

Evolution stones cannot be manufactured with current technology and can only be found in major secret realms and ruins, so the price has always been high.

To cultivate an Elite-level Pokémon, if it has sufficient potential, the resources you invest will start at nearly 10 billion.

Due to the integration of the Pokémon world, the planet has grown larger, so the territories of countries have also expanded.

Now the total population of Avalon Kingdom is about 2 billion, with 300 million registered Trainers, but so far, there are only over 500 Elites. It is conceivable how difficult it is to become an Elite Trainer.
