Chapter 101 - C101

On the ruins, massive boulders began to unravel into countless fine threads under Doflamingo's Devil Fruit ability.

These threads twisted and spiraled upward, converging into towering pillars that shot into the sky like sea dragons soaring from the ocean.

The colossal white thread pillars twisted in mid-air like braided ropes, whirling menacingly as if determined to crush Weiss beneath them.

Standing beneath the writhing white towers, Weiss stared at the shrinking sky above. Sword intent surged around him like a storm—sharp, bloodthirsty, and unrelenting. The air around his blade bristled with killing intent, distorting its edge into something almost monstrous.

He crouched low, crimson sword energy coalescing around him. With a sudden twist of his body, Weiss raised his blade and pointed skyward. The sword aura, guided by his will, clung to the blade's edge—and then, like divine dragons unleashed, they exploded forth from the sword tip.

Streaks of sword light pierced through the sky, trailing tails of blazing red, aiming directly at the descending pillars of white thread.

Boom!

Rings of sword light spun like drill heads, boring violently into the thread pillars. Threads were slashed apart and rained down from above. Just as the threads were about to collapse entirely, a powerful burst of sword aura detonated from within.

A flash of crimson erupted from inside the pillar, shattering it completely. The shockwave dispersed the clouds, and the moon once again revealed its pale face.

"To receive without returning—is that not rude?"

...

...

"Basic attack!"

With that declaration, Weiss vanished.

Doflamingo's expression darkened under the sharp perception of Observation Haki. On the ground, thread after thread erupted like earthworms after rain, rapidly weaving together.

Several massive threads formed a dome around Doflamingo, sealing him in tightly.

"Do you think this can hold me?"

Under the moonlight, Weiss's figure was nowhere to be seen—only flashes of crimson sword light cut through the darkness, striking the massive white dome like bolts of lightning.

Each swing cleaved through countless threads, severed lines falling like snow to the ground.

Crack!

Crack!

Crack!

With Weiss's relentless barrage, the enormous white columns finally reached their breaking point. Fissures spread across their surface, and with a thunderous crash, they shattered under the weight of his blade.

"White Thread Tsunami!"

At the moment his shield of threads collapsed, Doflamingo activated another awakened ability—he was never one to passively endure an opponent's assault.

From the ground erupted more towering pillars of threads. But this time, they didn't defend or entangle—they whipped forward like giant limbs, striking down at Weiss.

Just like Illaoi's ultimate move!

The crimson sword aura vanished as these tentacle-like pillars rained down furiously, causing sonic booms in their descent. A deafening crash followed—entire buildings collapsed as a massive crater formed where the strikes landed.

Doflamingo stepped out from behind his shattered thread dome. Observation Haki swept the area—no sign of Weiss in the crater.

Then, he spotted him—squatting casually atop the central plaza's statue.

"Tsk tsk. To think that the Heavenly Demon of the Seven Warlords would hide in a turtle shell. What a rare sight!" Weiss chuckled, shaking his head as if he had just witnessed something outrageous.

"Fufufufu... Don't get cocky just yet." The amusement had vanished from Doflamingo's face. Now there was only wariness—the kind one holds when facing an equally matched opponent.

"Cocky? Not at all. After all, I haven't taken you out yet."

Weiss rose from the statue, sword aura flaring. His presence was razor-sharp, his cold gaze impossible to meet directly.

His blade now cloaked in Armament Haki, Weiss slowly closed his eyes and held the sword vertically before him. Sword energy thrummed around him, expanding outward in waves.

Doflamingo, too, raised countless thread lines around him—each one as thick as an arm. In moments, there were thousands. Against Weiss, he dared not wait for an attack to reach him before responding.

At the end of every thread, sharp points formed—like spear tips, each covered in Armament Haki. Together, they looked vicious, deadly.

"Feather Attack—String!"

Doflamingo spread his arms like a flamingo in flight, and the countless spear-pointed threads behind him mimicked the motion.

He thrust his arms forward—thousands of thread-tipped lances surged toward Weiss, who stood atop the statue's head.

The wind howled.

Weiss, still with eyes closed, gave no indication of acknowledging the incoming wave of death.

Doflamingo did not feel elated—on the contrary, he pushed even more power into his attack.

The sharp tips, imbued with Armament Haki, tore through the air. But just as they neared Weiss, something inexplicable happened.

Ten meters away, they stopped—no matter how hard Doflamingo pushed, they couldn't move any closer. It was as if an invisible wall blocked their path.

Doflamingo's expression shifted. Then he noticed—his threads, even those coated in Haki, were being worn away—slowly, steadily, visibly.

"Basic attack—one strike."

As Weiss spoke, the invisible barrier vanished, collapsing inward toward his sword. The blocked energy suddenly found an outlet.

But at that moment, a sweeping blade of sword aura—over ten meters long—shot forth from Weiss.

It sliced through the incoming spikes in one clean stroke. The impact sent Doflamingo flying, smashing through over a dozen buildings.

The statue was obliterated by the shockwave. Weiss, still midair, launched another sword strike toward where Doflamingo had disappeared.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Structures crumbled beneath the onslaught of sword energy. The area where Doflamingo had fallen was blasted apart—reduced to rubble.

Weiss, sword in hand, strolled calmly through the ruins. Glancing at his left arm, he noticed a thread had grazed him. Fortunately, his Armament Haki had held—no injury.

Observation Haki swept the area. He soon found Doflamingo, now hidden among debris. His arm had been wounded—cut to the bone by that last strike. He was stitching it up with his threads.

Just as Weiss prepared to deliver the final blow—a sharp whistling pierced the air.

Reacting instinctively, he raised his blade and cleaved the projectile in two.

It wasn't a bullet.

It was a mochi, hardened and infused with Armament Haki.

In the distance, Katakuri appeared in a flash, landing silently. His body was covered in wounds. Moments later, Gion (Momousagi) and Chaton also arrived.

"Where's the Heavenly Demon?" Chaton asked with a frown.

"A Marine shows up at the scene of a brawl and asks about a pirate before checking if any civilians are hurt? How noble." Weiss snapped.

Chaton's face twisted, already unpleasant and now even more sour—not because he cared about Doflamingo, but because the fall of a Warlord had serious political consequences.

"Why did you save him?" Weiss demanded, glaring at Katakuri.

Katakuri didn't answer. He had almost left, but something told him to return—and just in time. His Observation Haki had shown him Weiss's sword stroke would have killed Doflamingo outright.

Make no mistake—without Katakuri's interference, Weiss would have ended it.

In every sense of the word—Doflamingo had already lost.
