Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 The Arrival of Thesis

The mixture of snot, tears, and blood flew hundreds of meters away.

"A mere low-level river god dares to covet my subordinate god? It seems you're tired of living!" Ares's voice came from within his blood-red cloak.

Looking at the suddenly appearing Ares, a smile touched Mobius's lips. It seems this experimental opportunity is gone!

"Who are you? How dare you hit me!" Achelous roared, "I am the master of healing! Even Zeus can only beg for my help!"

Ares's mouth twitched. What is this thing? Is he suicidal? Has his brain been waterlogged? To badmouth Zeus like that… you can think it in your head, and no one will do anything to you, but to blurt it out directly? That's brainless!

A mere god of weak divine power, without even a divine essence, crushing him is as simple as crushing an ant. And he's still dreaming!

Looking at the river god Achelous, whose head was askew and eyes crooked from his single blow, a hint of killing intent flashed in Ares's eyes. A small river god dared to touch his subordinate god? This was trampling his face into the dirt!

The next second, twelve spiraling air blades suddenly burst forth from under Ares's blood-red cloak.

Achelous's body instantly became covered in spiderweb cracks. The entire river suddenly flowed backward, forming a bloody vortex that uprooted the reeds within a ten-thousand-mile radius.

"Master of Healing?" Ares stepped closer, treading on the shattered river fragments. With each step, bronze armor materialized from the void. "You can't even dream properly, why don't you go become the King of Gods!" The God of War's left hand suddenly transformed into a three-meter-long bronze saw blade, with black divine flames of war flickering on its teeth.

Achelous had sobered up by this point, drenched in blood, utterly disheveled, and trembling all over. He now clearly saw that Ares intended to kill him!

He said in a frightened tone, "You, you can't kill me! I am the child of Oceanus, the river that encircles the world, and Tethys, the mother of springs! If you kill me, you will be opposing my father and mother!"

"Oceanus? Tethys!" Ares scoffed, "A mere river god, what opposition can there be? There are countless beings like you on the earth; Oceanus won't care!" Ares clenched his fist, holding the bronze saw blade, and approached Achelous.

"War should end at the source." Tethys's voice resonated from all liquid matter. Her body, condensed from the void, was composed of billions of water droplets. The river water evaporated by Ares's divine power actually flowed backward and reassembled, transforming into liquid creatures that entwined the God of War's feet.

"Mother, Mother, you're here!" Achelous roared, "That is the god of healing, the god you, Mother, want! As long as Ares is imprisoned in Tartarus, you can get that god to heal Father's wounds!"

Achelous's words made the atmosphere awkward. Mobius's eyes held a strong killing intent, staring fixedly at Achelous!

When Tethys appeared, Mobius knew that this river god was just a pawn, a foolish pawn.

Before this was said, Tethys could have protected Achelous, and they wouldn't have had to fall out with Tethys. After all, what was there to retaliate against a mere pawn? They could have asked Tethys for compensation.

Since Tethys had personally come, they would have to give this Titan god some face, but Achelous just blurted it out directly.

Even if Mobius wanted to heal Oceanus, the world-encircling river, afterward, there would be no room for discussion.

Because by saying that, he effectively revealed Tethys as the mastermind. If Mobius were to continue healing Oceanus, he would be considered inferior to Tethys.

Gods can bow their heads, but divine offices cannot!

Divine essences are equal. If he were to do such a thing, it would imply that the essence of healing is inferior to the essence of water, and he would then be ostracized by other gods. His path of ascension would also be cut off, and Ares would become the laughingstock of all Olympus!

Because this affected the interests of the gods, the divine essences would no longer be equal. This would be like opening a floodgate, something even the primordial gods dared not do!

So, if he were to heal Oceanus again afterward, he would undoubtedly disappear on the way to the ocean, perhaps even finding a place for himself in Tartarus, and then a brand new "Mobius" would appear to replace his power, carrying out the will of the gods by refusing to heal anything related to water!

However, after this was revealed, Mobius was not the most distressed; the most distressed was Tethys, the Mother of Springs.

She had made countless arrangements and plans to obtain the divine office of healing, but everything was ruined by this child of hers!

Her husband, Oceanus, the world-encircling river, had very serious injuries! Due to the Titanomachy, her husband had been in a deep slumber for many years, and now, finally, there was a specialized auxiliary-type god of healing.

She couldn't express how delighted she was. Just one more step, and her husband would have hope of recovery. But it was ruined by this son whose brain she didn't know where it came from!

One must know how much effort Tethys had put into creating a god of healing! She arranged for her daughter Styx to go to the Underworld, attempting to grasp the power of new life from death! She wanted to nurture vitality from the deathly stillness of the Underworld.

This would surely be a god with powerful healing abilities, but unfortunately, it failed!

Styx became a part of the Underworld, becoming the River Styx, the river of oaths!

Having lost a daughter who was by her side, she learned her lesson afterward, enduring her inner grief, and arranged for another daughter to go to the ocean's edge, to master the power of seaweed, hoping to combine the power of wood and water to nurture a god with healing abilities.

But it failed again!

This daughter became the goddess of lush grasses. This incident also caused her to be viewed with suspicion by the gods, and some even thought she wanted to seize the authority of the gods.

Afterward, she paid a great price, coupled with the guarantee of Gaea, the Earth Mother, to appease the gods' apprehension.

And the god of healing power she had sought so desperately appeared so fresh and radiant before her.

How excited she was when the divine office of healing was proclaimed to the world! Her husband could finally recover!

She was even so excited that she couldn't control her water powers, wanting to disregard everything and search for Mobius, the God of Healing!
