Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Yin's Gift

Bronson was arranged to stay in the outer courtyard of the manor. Lu Yin would not let him get close; he had too many secrets. The same went for Xu San.

He opened the light screen, and a familiar figure appeared. "Classmate, hello."

Lu Yin hadn't expected the one contacting him to be him, Yin. "How do you know my personal terminal number?"

Yin smiled. "As long as I want to, I can find out."

"What do you want?" Lu Yin said indifferently.

Yin said with a beaming smile, "It's been a while, I missed you. And I wanted to send you a gift."

Lu Yin was puzzled. "A gift?"

The silver-haired man sent a location to Lu Yin's personal terminal. "This place has several Corpse Kings hidden. Perhaps you can make use of them."

Lu Yin's expression changed, becoming extremely sharp. "You really are connected to the New Human Alliance. Baruda's treason was your doing, wasn't it? On Earth, you assassinated Zhang Dingtian for the sake of the corpse tide. You were the one who took those Corpse Kings away, weren't you?"

Yin picked his ear. "Don't be so loud, someone might hear. I'm not some member of the New Human Alliance, I just happened to find out about this. Don't pin everything on me."

Lu Yin's eyes flickered. "Why are you telling me this location?"

"I told you, I will help you."

"And I told you, even if you help me, I will not repay you in the future."

"Haha, so heartless. In that case, just consider me a good person, doing you a favor," Yin said with a smile.

Lu Yin stared at Yin. "Eliminating the New Human Alliance is everyone's duty. Now that I know the location, I will definitely deal with it. And don't you think about escaping. I've got my eyes on you. The moment I find your location, I will capture you and hand you over to the Thirteen Imperial Squads."

A smile played on Yin's lips. "That will depend on your ability. See you later, classmate." After speaking, the light screen disappeared.

Lu Yin looked up at the sky. The New Human Alliance, a major organization spanning both the inner and outer universes. What role did Yin play in it? Why was he helping him? Was it because of his status as King Zishan? In that case, it seemed this status was perhaps even more useful than he had imagined.

His family had let him become King Zishan, and the New Human Alliance had actively approached him because of this status. The Great Yu Empire was merely a power in the Canglan Territory, so why did the title of King Zishan have such a great appeal?

Lu Yin let out a breath. Forget it, he wouldn't think about it. Right now, he only wanted to do two things: one, enter the Great Yu Empire's Youth Council, and two, join one of the top ten Starry Sky academies. As for everything related to King Zishan, he would deal with it later.

Looking at the outer courtyard, Lu Yin turned off the lights in his room and rubbed his hands together. It was time. The die. This moment was always so worth looking forward to; he wondered what he would roll.

By his calculations, he now had seventy cubic meters of Star Energy crystals, more than he had ever been. It was enough to roll seventy times. The only pity was that he could only roll a maximum of five times before it was depleted. Four times was just right. To roll again, he would have to rest for a period. If the rest time was short, a single roll might deplete it.

"Come on, the moment of luck has arrived," Lu Yin muttered to himself. At this moment, he was like a gambler.

Opening his palms, the die appeared. It wasn't dim and lightless, but had a hazy starlight twinkling around it. Lu Yin slapped his forehead; he had forgotten that it could also recover on its own without Star Energy crystals, though it took a relatively long time. The journey from Earth to Zhenwu Star had been long enough for it to recover. A pity. If he had known earlier, he would have rolled it. What a waste.

Looking at the die, Lu Yin reached out and tapped it. As the spinning die gradually came to a stop, the number that appeared before Lu Yin was 'two'.

"Two pips, not bad," Lu Yin muttered to himself. Looking at the disassembly vortex, he took out many things from his Cosmic Ring and threw them in, including quite a few Cosmic Rings.

Lu Yin basically didn't recognize the materials that were disassembled. These materials weren't just disassembled once. All the disassembled materials were thrown back in until they could no longer be disassembled.

This time, the only recognizable material he got from the disassembly was the Gold Essence Flower. He got two spheres this time, adding the one from last time, for a total of three. It wasn't a lot, but it was not bad. After all, this thing was expensive. Besides the Gold Essence Flower, there was a pile of unknown materials, which were probably not bad either. Lu Yin put them all away.

Soon, the five minutes were up. Lu Yin had obtained quite a few materials, many types but small quantities, though they were probably all good stuff.

He took out one cubic meter of Star Energy crystals, and soon, the die recovered again.

Lu Yin tapped it. The die spun rapidly and finally stopped. Five pips.

The moment he saw the five pips, Lu Yin subconsciously wanted to rush out the door. Five pips was Talent Plunder; he had to touch a talented cultivator within 10 seconds to borrow their talent. But he immediately stopped. Borrow from whom? Lu Yin stared blankly. It seemed he couldn't find any talented cultivators.

There were definitely talented cultivators on the Capital Star, but he didn't know a single one.

Lu Yin's mouth twitched. 10 seconds passed quickly. Wasted... wait, wasn't there Xu San! Lu Yin was speechless. How could he have forgotten him?

He sighed. Oh well, a waste is a waste. Lu Yin took out Star Energy crystals again. When the die stopped for the third time, what appeared before him was a number he had never rolled before—six pips.

Before Lu Yin could get excited, a terrifying suction force came from within the die. The Star Energy in his body was instantly absorbed. At the same time, the Star Energy crystals in his Cosmic Ring were also rapidly absorbed, not needing to be crushed but directly turning into Star Energy and disappearing into the die. Before Lu Yin's eyes, a spatial rift appeared, but it vanished in less than a second, and everything around him returned to normal.

Lu Yin panted heavily. What happened?

Looking at the dim and lightless die, Lu Yin was bewildered. He had clearly rolled a six, but why was there no reaction? The Star Energy in his body was gone. He suddenly thought of something, and quickly checked his Cosmic Ring, only to discover with grief that all his Star Energy crystals had completely disappeared. "You can't play like this! This is highway robbery!" Lu Yin said bitterly.

The die had six pips. Three were unknown, the other four were not bad, but the sixth pip required a terrifying amount of Star Energy. All the Star Energy he had, nearly seventy cubic meters, could only open a small rift, and he didn't even get to find out what its use was. How disgusting.

Lu Yin suddenly had a bad premonition. In the future, whenever he rolled a six, would it be like this again? Could it be that six pips just meant sucking away all his Star Energy? Impossible. Every pip had a use. It was just that the use of the sixth pip was a bit terrifying, something he couldn't handle at the moment.

Looking at the dim and lightless die, Lu Yin sighed. That was it for today. All the Star Energy in his body had been sucked dry. He could only recover slowly. What a scam!

Back to square one, Lu Yin didn't even have the heart to cultivate. He fell onto the bed and went to sleep. At the same time, the plan he had originally imagined became even more firm.

That night, many people were awake, looking at the lit-up King Zishan Manor, their thoughts unknown.

The next day, as soon as he woke up, Lu Yin contacted Zhang Dingtian's group of three and learned that they were at the Martial Hall and would report to the Thirteen Imperial Squads in a few days. Lu Yin chatted with them for a bit and didn't say much more. The path ahead was theirs to walk.

"Boss, there's a visitor," Xu San shouted from outside Lu Yin's room.

Lu Yin came out. "Who is it?"

"An officer, quite a high rank. He said he's some kind of Commander, named Long Chu," Xu San said.

Lu Yin had Xu San lead the person to the reception room.

Before long, a middle-aged man with a dignified appearance stepped into the reception room of the King Zishan Manor. The moment he saw Lu Yin, his eyes were filled with excitement. He immediately bowed and saluted, "Commander of the Third Ring Army, Long Chu, pays his respects to King Zishan."

Lu Yin reached out to help Long Chu up. "Commander, there's no need for this. Please, have a seat."

Long Chu said excitedly, "King Zishan, we have finally awaited your return."

A glint flashed in Lu Yin's eyes. He had Xu San leave the room, then looked at Long Chu. "Commander Long, what is the meaning of these words?"

Long Chu opened his mouth to speak, then subconsciously glanced around.

Lu Yin smiled. "Bronson is not here."

Long Chu let out a breath and said in a low voice, "I was originally a humble soldier under Lord Undying Zi Shan. Many of us followed Lord Undying Zi Shan. But since the Zishan Clan disappeared, we were all exiled to the third ring. I thought I would never see a member of the Zishan Clan again in this life. I never expected you to appear, Your Highness. This is wonderful."

"The third ring?" Lu Yin was puzzled.

Long Chu nodded and said bitterly, "After the Zishan Clan disappeared, most of the soldiers who had followed the Zishan Clan were exiled to the third ring. Outside the third ring is the capital's defense army, but in reality, it's just a place for the children of nobles to get gilded. And we, the old soldiers of the Zishan Clan, were thrown into the third ring like trash. This is torture for us. We are soldiers, and we will never accept this kind of humiliation."

Lu Yin said nothing.
