Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Hunt Begins
Rina gathered the pack's most loyal wolves beneath the ancient oaks — a silent war council.
Kael's eyes burned with determination, but beneath his strength was a storm of doubt.
"We cannot afford division," Rina said, voice steady but fierce. "Those who betray us threaten everything we've fought for."
Maeven stepped forward. "We will watch. Listen. Root out the shadows."
Lira stayed silent, her gaze unreadable.
As the moon climbed high, Rina's senses sharpened. The fire inside her pulsed — a warning.
Suddenly, movement in the underbrush.
A figure darted through the shadows.
Kael sprang forward, catching the intruder — a young wolf with trembling hands.
"You're spying for the raven woman," Kael growled.
The wolf's eyes filled with tears. "I… I did it to save my family. They're prisoners. They'll be killed if I don't."
Rina's heart clenched.
The war was more complex than fire and fang.
She stepped close, placing a hand on the wolf's shoulder.
"Tell me everything."
Outside the camp, the raven woman's laugh echoed, cold and cruel.
Her game was far from over.
