# Chapter 91: The Void Awakens
*POV: Vanessa*
The ground split open like a wound. Black liquid poured out. Not blood. Something worse. Something that made my skin crawl just looking at it.
The Void Wolf rose from the crack. Nine feet of pure nightmare. Its fur was made of shadows that moved wrong. Eyes like empty holes in reality. When it breathed frost covered everything.
"Holy shit," Marcus whispered beside me. "That's what we've been fighting this whole time?"
Not fighting. Running from. There's a difference.
The corrupted wolves around us stopped attacking each other. Turned toward the Void Wolf like it was calling them. Their eyes went dead. Empty.
"Come to me my children," the Void Wolf said. Its voice sounded like breaking glass. "Let me make you complete."
The corrupted wolves walked straight into its shadow. Disappeared. Became part of something bigger and meaner.
"We need to go," I said. "Right now."
