# Chapter 76 – The Battle of Wolves
*Kieran's POV*
The howls started at midnight.
They weren't normal wolf calls. These were wrong. Twisted. Full of pain and madness. I knew what they meant before I even looked out the window.
The corrupted wolves had found us.
"Alpha!" Marcus burst into my office, his face pale with fear. "They're coming from the north. At least fifty of them."
I was already shifting, letting my wolf form take over. My bones cracked and reformed. My muscles expanded. Black fur sprouted across my skin.
But even as I changed, I could hear it. The whisper in the back of my mind.
*Join us,* it said in a voice like silk and poison. *Let the void consume you. Let it make you strong.*
The Void Wolf. Even here, even now, it was trying to get inside my head.
I shook my head hard and focused on Marcus. "Get everyone to defensive positions. Women and children to the safe room. Now."
