Anyways, as Sokka has finished his apprenticeship with master Piandao they continued their journey getting closer and closer to the heart of the fire nation and the home of Akira.
One night they were camping when Toph stood up alarmed.
"Guys this may sound crazy but it feels like a giant metal man is comming in our direction" she said and Akira's eyes immediately snapped open.
He looked along the cliffs for any sign of the combustion man and soon spotted him.
Without even waiting a second he bloodbent his head to look upwards just in time to redirect the blast that will come at them.
"A combustion bender, extremly dangerous assasins from the fire nation" Akira explained as he bloodbent the man and floated him down to them.
The normally silent man was scared shitless and looked at Akira in fear.
Akira just siged "I need to get rid of him,everyone who doesn't want to see this look away" he said and drew his sword out of his sheath before he stabbed it into the heart of the man.
The man grunted in pain and died quickly.
Akira let him down and burried him five feet under the earth.
"Let's continue traveling and search for a safer place" Sokka said and climbed on top of Appa.
Akira cleaned the blood on his sword with his bloodbending and put it back in his black scabbard on his back.
They then continued their journey and moved further towards the west.
They landed near a small city of the fire nation and Akira and Aang resumed their training with Toph to learn her seismic sense earthbending ability.
Not being able to see because of a cloth in front of his face while getting beat up was a frightening experience for Akira but after a day of intense training all his injuries were totally worth it as he could now see around one hundred metres around him in black and white. It was an amazing ability.
After they were done with their training Toph took Aang and Sokka to the city to buy something to eat.
Meanwhile Ty Lee, Katara and Akira were setting up a campfire and after that Akira went back to his seismic sense training and he bound his eyes with a black cloth.
If he remembered correctly then Toph could feel hundreds of miles at the time of the legend of Korra.
He also planned to work on a similar sense with airbending to get a visual feedback even when he is in the air.
For now he decided to keep the black blindfold on and continue his training.
The more he used it the wider became his range althrough it only increased slowly.
Just then Toph, Aang and Sokka were comming back.
"Wbere did you get so much money from to buy all this?" Katara asked.
"Oh Toph scammed one of those people that play with those shells" Aang said and Katara became furious.
Akira just ignored their argument. He had no problem with scamming or stealing, he just didn't need to do that because he still had a massive fortune of money sitting inside his inventory.
Well anyways, he grabbed an apple from the supplies tgey brought and enjoyed the drama of those two drama queens that always seemed to argue and then apologize in the end. It was kind of funny to look at.
Sokka even brought a messenger hawk that fought with Momo all the time.
With nothing to do he focused on the task at he put off for now.
Reaching immortality with his bending.
He would be fine as he already was immortal by default being a half spirit...but all the others.
He looked at the joyful banter of the young teenagers.
They would all eventually age and die.
If is possible with the waterbending technique to keep them in their youth of that much Akira was certain.
The problem is that it's almost impossible to pull off as it requires extremly precise manipulation of muscles and organs not to mention the time all the test subjects he would need to perfect such an ability.
Even if he were to train hard it would likely still take him a few decades to master this ability.
From the teachings of the lion turtle he knew that he couldn't keep Aang young, that would interferee in the sacred circle of the avatar reincarnation and the consequenses would be catastrophic.
But for the others...
He just hoped he could perfect this ability before they all passed away.
"Why do you look so depressed, is something bothering you?" Ty Lee came to him and snuggled up to him.
"I am just worried. In a week we will invade the fire nation and althrough our victory is already guaranteed I may loose some of my friends in this battle. What if someone of them dies...or you" he said and looked her deep in the eyes.
"I think you worry to much" Ty Lee said with her silly grin.
"Mabye you are right..." Akira said but he was still worried about...practically everything in the future.
Ty Lee giggled and tickled him at his stomach making him burst out in laughter.
"You were way to serious, you should relax. We can worry about the invasion when it's there" Ty Lee said and jumped on top of him, her face inches away from his own.
She grabbed his head and kissed him passionately.
"Hey you two lovebirds, how about you help us in cooking all this stuff?" Sokka said angrily.
"Oh are you jealous? A pity when someones girlfriend is at the north pole" Akira teased. Sokka was still together with princess Yue oficially, since she didn't die in the invasion.
Toph snapped her head in his direction "Sokka has a girlfriend?" she asked sounding a bit...sad?
"Oh yes, she is a beautiful princess of the northern water tribe" Akira teased and grinned "this idiot here really used up all his luck to get someone like her"
"Argh!" Sokka shouted angrily and tackled him.
While they rolled in the mud with Sokka trying to punch him Akira just laughed until...
"Uegh, something got in my mouth" Akira said disgusted.
"Hehe, serves you right" Sokka said and got up, covered in mud.
"Hehe, have fun washing your clothes" Akira said and cleanedhimself and his clothes with water and earthbending.
"So unfair!" Sokka complained and everyone laughed.
"Alright Sokka, I'll clean you" Katara said and waved her hand moving the mud away from Sokka.
"Oh thank you, you are the best sister in the world!" Sokka said making everyone chuckle again.
