When he woke up again he saw four lion turtles surrounding him.
"You have mastered the element of water. You are the only one who can carry the burden of more than one element other than the Avatar" the stone lion turtle said.
"We have a task for you. If you refuse we will never bother you again and continue your life. Should you accept you will be granted the two other elements" another lion turtle said.
"Alright, what is this task?" Akira asked curiously and a bit greedy. He will become the second avatar...how cool is that?
"Your task will be to act as a guardian and guide to the Avatar and help him restore the balance of the world. To help you ease the burden on your body you will fundamentally be changed and we will make you a quasi-spirit" the lion turtle said.
"What do you mean by quasi-spirit?" Akira asked for clarification.
"You will be half spirit and half human. Being part spirit allows you to control your age however you wish and grants you immortality" the lion turtle said
"Hold on so that means I can change my body to that of a baby and the next second I will be an old geezer?" Akira asked.
"No it's not so easy. This technique drains a lot of chi so you will likely need a few weeks to age or reverse age yourself to this age but yes you can be a baby again if that's what you want" The lion turtle said and Akiras eyes sparked with excitement. Who wouldn't like eternal youth?
"I accept!" He said firmly.
"Then it's decided" one of the lion turtles said and raised it's hand.
A white glow surrounded them and Akira could feel a new power within him with his body glowing.
Then the earth lion turtle raised it's hand and his body was engulfed in brown light with another element inside his body.
He felt the new connection inside him.
Meanwhile at the camp...
"What is going on why is Akira glowing?" Sokka freaked out.
"I don't know!" Aang shouted and tried to reach Akira but a shockwave blasted them away and the white glow changed colour to brown.
"What is going on, why did he change colour?" Katara asked worried.
"I don't know okay!?" Aang said and went to Akira "but it feels like a very powerful spirit..."
...
"You will need some time to adapt to your new elemental connection and it will have a backlash at first" one of the lion turtles said.
"We wish you luck" another lion turtle said and waved it's giant hands, sending him back to reality.
Akira woke up with a jolt and noticed the destroyed forest and the worried expression of his friends.
"Are you okay Akira? What happened?" Katara asked.
"Yeah and why did you glow white and then brown?" Sokka asked.
"Argh!" Akira groaned in pain.
His whole body felt like he was run over by a horde of wild bisons.
"Ah fuck this hurts!" he groaned and slowly explained them everything.
"So you are something like a second avatar?" Aang asked confused.
"No, I am a guardian and guide to the avatar" Akira said and tried to bend fire.
Just as he summoned his chi, his whole arm flared up and the fire flickered out.
"Argh fuck!" Akira cursed "so this is what they meant with time to adjust and backlash"
"Are you alright?" Aang asked.
"No, it seems like I won't be able to bend for a while and I don't know how long I need to heal" Akira said bitterly and all of a sudden a wave of dizzyness overcame him and he blacked out.
...
When he woke up they had set up their camp and Aang was diligently learning earthbending.
"Urgh my head" Akira groaned and was immediately licked all over the face by Noir.
"Hahah, I'm okay Noir" Akira laughed.
"Are you okay? You suddenly passed out" Katara said.
"Urg, how long was I out?" Akira asked.
"About two days" Katara said "are you okay?"
"I'm fine" Akira waved her off and tried to summon fire in his hand.
A small flicker appeared and fizzeled out in a puff of smoke.
Fortunately it seems like his chi pathways have recovered and no pain shot up his arm this time.
"My bending is blocked as long as my body hasn't adjusted to the new elemental connections" Akira sighed.
"Haha, welcome to the team" Sokka joked and Akira raised his eyebrow.
"I'm still better with you even without bending" Akira said and stood up.
"Come on now that I have nothing to do I'll teach you how to fight" he said and took his katana sword.
"Oh do I also get such a cool sword?" Sokka asked with gleaming eyes.
"No this is mine" Akira said "follow me I'll teach you chi arts"
When they had their peace Akira explained the principles of the chi arts and showed it's effects by crushing a boulder with his hand.
"Woah, how did you do that?" Sokka asked.
"I'll teach you how to do that" Akira said and they began with basic chi feeling practice.
"To be able to master this you first need to feel the chi. It's a form of energy that all living things posess and flows in your body..." Akira explained.
It actually was a bit fun to teach Sokka the chi arts because even if he acts like an idiot this guy is actually a genius.
This went on for a few days with everyone diligently training until they reached the Si Wong dessert as a vacation wish from Katara.
They reached the misty palms oasis soon later with sandbenders hanging around the tavern.
They entered the tavern where a man was serving cold fruit drinks.
Akiras eyes immediately lit up.
"Hey you can look around while I sip on a fruit drink right?" Sokka asked already moving to the counter together with Akira who ordered a mango juice.
They then met the professor that searched for the Wan Shi Tong library.
"Oh, I know now where I will spend my short vacation" Sokka said "we are going to the library!!!"
"Hey when do I get my vacation?" Toph asked.
"You have to work here for a bit longer for you to get a vacation" Sokka said.
Said and done.
Soon later they were on the back of Appa and were searching for the library with professor Zei.
"Oh god its so fucking hot" Akira complained.
"Yeah absoluteley" Sokka agreed and bound his shirt around his head.
"Hey look there it is" Toph said pointing somewhere.
Everyone looked and Akira just laughed.
"Alright you got us" Katara said.
"Hey look what is this?" Sokka asked pointing to a lone tower in the sand.
They landed in front of the tower.
"This can't be the library, it's to small" Aang said.
"No this is the library" Akira said and pointed to the highest point of the drawing "It's burried in the sand".
"Alright, let's go!" Katara said after they watched a fox bring a scroll inside the tower.
"I'll stay outside...books arent really a thing for me" Toph said.
"Oh right" Katara said ankward.
"I'll also stay here. I can't let Toph get bored to death here right?" Akira joked.
"Alright, your choice but you're missing out" Sokka said and started climbing the tower.
"You don't need to stay here just because of me" Toph said to Akira.
"Don't worry about it I find books boring anyways" Akira said and sat down besides Toph and Appa.
"How is your seeing? Does this even work in the sand?" Akira asked.
"No not really" Toph said "I mean I still see but it is like looking through thick mist" Toph said.
"You really have to teach me how to do that when I have my bending back" Akira said.
"Sure but don't complain when you are to dumb to pick it up" Toph said.
Akira looked to the dessert.
"Something is comming here" Akira said and Toph screamed "the library is sinking!!!"
"You stop the library from sinking, I'll take care of those guys" Akira said and pointed to the sandbenders and drew his sword.
He then dashed forward and escapes a wave of sand by sidestepping and swinging his sword at a sandbender cutting into his hand.
The sandbender screamed in pain giving Akira an opening to knock him out.
He noted how the other sandbenders were already binding Appa down with ropes.
With a big leap he landed in front of a sandbender and slashed through his torso, splitting him in half.
"You bastard!!!" one of the sandbenders screamed and sent a wave of sand at him.
He doged and took out a few of his poison needles from his inventory and threw them at the sandbender.
The sandbender got hit and slumped down a second later, dead.
He then sliced the ropes tying down Appa and the bison turned and blasted the rest of them away with a strong gust of wind.
"Retreat!" a sandbender shouted and they dissapeared.
Akira quickly burried the corpses of the sandbenders. He didn't want Aang to see this.
Just when he was finished Aang and the rest returned...well without professor Zei and Toph let go, letting the library sink into the sand.
