"I'll just have to call them here then," Vacuse said. He didn't like the idea, though, because if he could call his attendants, then he could also call others.
But what other choice did he have? Walk through the chaotic battle and try to pick out his subordinates that might be fighting at another end of the tunnel?
"What are you going to do?" Yukata asked as he tried to get himself deeper into the shadow of the tent he was hiding in. "Who are you going to call?"
Vacuse didn't answer him. Instead, he frowned and then raised his hands. Then he clapped. At the same time, he released a blast of void energy that arced up into the air like a firework.
The fighting all around him stopped, and everyone turned to his location. The clap had sounded like thunder, and in the tunnel, it only got amplified.
And the burst of void that followed, the one that cut up into the air like a dark cloud, gripped everyone's attention. Even those at the far end looked up briefly at the strange power.
