Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 White Yasha’s Bet

The dinner party concluded with laughter and joy, and the time came to the next day.

The Moon Rabbit girl, wearing an exquisite lace dress and small leather boots, led Lin Que to a shop with the "Twin Goddesses" flag.

"Lin… Lin Que, why are we coming to White Yasha-sama's place?"

Her speech suddenly became stuttered, and Black Rabbit, for some reason, became nervous and began looking left and right, as if wary of something.

"Your relationship is good; I want to try asking her something."

Lin Que looked at her: "Is there a problem?"

"But…"

Black Rabbit seemed to want to say something more, but the shop assistant who had left earlier returned at this moment.

"White Yasha-sama has agreed. Please come in, both of you."

"Then we're going in~"

Waving at the shop assistant, Lin Que pulled Black Rabbit, who was standing still, and walked forward.

"Why are you spacing out? Let's go."

"Wait… wait a minute!"

Black Rabbit's body began to tremble continuously: "I suddenly feel a bit unwell; you should go in alone!"

"It's better to talk in your sleep at night."

Dragging the rabbit-eared girl beside him, Lin Que went deep inside and soon arrived at the Thousand Eyes shop.

The moment he stepped in, Lin Que noticed a dark shadow flying towards him from the front.

"Black~ Rabbit~ Chan~!"

A small figure suddenly darted out and hugged him, while her hands moved up and down, revealing a sly smile.

But before she could speak, she seemed to sense something and suddenly looked up at Lin Que, whom she was hugging, and Black Rabbit, who was trembling behind him.

"Tsk, I knew the feel was off."

The little girl, who was clinging like a koala, let go, an annoyed expression on her face.

"Where did you come from, daring to interrupt my perfect plan to pounce and ambush Black Rabbit?"

"I am the leader of the No-Names, Lin Que."

Lin Que spoke righteously, looking at the silver-haired, golden-eyed young girl with two horns on her head, who looked very cute.

"It is my duty to protect my subordinates; I will not let strangers get close!"

Black Rabbit looked over gratefully: "Lin Que…"

"If you want to touch Black Rabbit, you have to pay more!"

"Lin Que! What are you saying?!"

"I see, it was indeed my oversight."

White Yasha sized up Lin Que thoughtfully, then suddenly asked, "How much?"

Lin Que held up five fingers: "Five gold coins an hour."

White Yasha threw out a bag of gold coins: "Alright! Give me a thousand hours first!"

"Thank you for your business…"

"Stop messing around!"

Black Rabbit cried out helplessly: "It's our first time meeting, why do you two get along so well?!"

"What a pity, a big deal of five thousand gold coins."

Lin Que pushed the bag of gold coins back with tears in his eyes: "Let's cooperate again if there's a chance in the future."

"No problem, no problem."

White Yasha leaned close to Lin Que's ear and whispered, "Later, you can secretly take some candid photos of Black Rabbit at home, one gold coin per photo."

"Deal!"

"I heard that! I heard everything!"

Black Rabbit separated their heads with one hand each: "Lord White Yasha is one thing, but why is Lin Que also messing around with her?!"

"That's why I didn't want to come here!"

"Hahaha, I'm not teasing you anymore."

White Yasha opened her folding fan, waved it, and walked smilingly towards the depths of the store.

"Everyone, follow along, let's go inside to talk."

Lin Que pulled the resistant Black Rabbit along and followed her to a spacious tea room.

White Yasha walked to the seats, poured the freshly brewed tea from the store clerk into three cups, and pushed them towards Lin Que and Black Rabbit.

"You've summoned a good companion, Black Rabbit."

"I have to thank Lord White Yasha for her help."

The calmed Black Rabbit showed gratitude: "If it weren't for the low-priced invitation letter you gave me, I wouldn't have been able to summon Lin Que."

"Don't thank me, it's your good luck."

White Yasha picked up her teacup and took a sip, then continued, "Did you come to see me today for something?"

"I came to see you."

Lin Que spoke up: "I want to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Is there any quick way to make money?"

Lin Que waved his arm: "Preferably the kind where you use your hands rather than your brain, saving time and effort."

"Hmm… it seems you are very confident in your own strength."

White Yasha put down her teacup: "Normally, this kind of information is charged."

"But considering Black Rabbit's relationship, I'll tell you one for free."

"Go to the end of the world, find the Water God there, and pass her trial."

"Wait!"

Black Rabbit on the side suddenly exclaimed: "The Water God stationed at the end of the world, isn't that Lord White Yasha yourself…?"

"That's right!"

White Yasha puffed out her chest: "That's my subordinate god!"

"Be mentally prepared, kid!"

"If something goes wrong, you might get seriously injured~!"

"Ah, this…"

After a brief recollection, Lin Que, uncharacteristically, hesitated: "How about we try another method?"

White Yasha narrowed her eyes: "Are you scared?"

"Not really."

Lin Que shook his head: "She's your subordinate, after all, so it wouldn't feel right to beat her up too badly."

"I think you're too arrogant!"

White Yasha snorted coldly in annoyance: "I'll put it out there, if you can defeat her head-on today, I'll give you an extra Divine Core as a reward!"

"But as the price of your arrogance, if you lose, you have to do something for me."

"Divine Core?!"

Black Rabbit exclaimed again.

A Divine Core refers to the highest-level Grace that allows an individual to develop their body's full potential.

In addition, possessing a Divine Core also strengthens other Graces held by the Divine Core holder.

Even throughout Hakoniwa, Divine Cores are extremely precious existences, owned by only a few individuals.

To take out such an item as a reward for a childish bet seemed excessive no matter how one looked at it.

Even as the beneficiary, Black Rabbit couldn't help but remind her.

"Lord White Yasha, isn't this too valuable?"

"You don't need to worry about it, I have plenty of those things."

White Yasha waved her hand casually: "Instead of worrying about whether my prize is too valuable, you should think about how to win."

"That little snake has been with me for several hundred years; her strength is not as simple as you think."

ECHO is off.
