Roman and Patricia moved through the gallery, exchanging pleasantries…well, mostly Roman, since he recognized several of the guests. Patricia, though she had barely paid attention at Silver's birthday party, still spotted a few familiar faces from that night.
With his hand around her waist, Roman drew her closer and whispered, his gaze fixed on someone across the room. "There is your target, she…" he began, but abruptly stopped. Patricia raised an eyebrow, turning her head toward him.
"He is here," Roman mouthed, prompting her to follow his stare. Her eyes landed on Syres, and she sighed in disbelief.
Roman stepped forward, but Patricia quickly tugged him back, forcing him to stop and meet her gaze.
