Chapter 463: Return to the Eastern Xuan Region!
"Reporting to Chief, you and the Second Chief previously instructed us to gather information about the Eastern Xuan Region. We finally have some news," the Sky Dragon Demon Commander reported respectfully to Lin Fan.
Lin Fan raised an eyebrow and said calmly, "Let's hear it."
"The Eastern Xuan Region appears to have erupted into war," Sky Dragon explained. "Of the former Eight Great Super Sects, only three remain. The war was started by the leader of those sects—Yuan Gate."
"Which three sects are still standing?" Lin Fan asked.
"Other than the aggressor Yuan Gate, the surviving two are Dao Sect and Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace."
"I see," Lin Fan nodded slightly. Then he asked, "Where are Lin Dong and Xiao Yan?"
At that moment, Xiao Diao spoke up, "While you were in seclusion, the Devouring Divine Palace appeared. We went there and gained some rewards."
"Xiao Yan is currently in closed-door cultivation, preparing to break through to the Reincarnation Stage. Lin Dong is inside the Devouring Divine Palace, receiving the inheritance of the Devouring Master."
"Let everyone get ready," Lin Fan said. "Once Lin Dong returns and Xiao Yan exits seclusion, we set out—back to the Eastern Xuan Region."
"The three-year deadline is nearly up. It's time to settle things with Yuan Gate!"
"Yes, Chief!"
Sky Dragon and the others responded with utmost respect and immediately left to prepare their forces.
Lin Fan remained at Thunder Abyss Mountain, cultivating while waiting for Lin Dong and Xiao Yan.
A little over half a month later, Lin Dong returned from the northern Demon Region.
Three days after that, Xiao Yan successfully broke through to the Reincarnation Stage and emerged from his closed-door cultivation!
"Since we're all here," Lin Fan declared, "let's set up the spatial teleportation array. It's time we return to the Eastern Xuan Region!"
By now, the Four Symbols Palace boasted eight Reincarnation Stage experts, along with several at the peak of the Death Profound Stage. Their combined strength was formidable. Working together, they completed a massive teleportation formation in just three days.
As Lin Fan and his group prepared to activate the array, Zhu Li of the Heavenly Marten Clan and Liu Qing of the Dragon Clan arrived as promised, offering their assistance.
Naturally, Lin Fan welcomed their support.
After exchanging greetings, the four sworn brothers—Lin Fan, Lin Dong, Xiao Yan, and Xiao Diao—set out with Sky Dragon, Golden Ape, Zhou Yi, Zhou Li, Zhu Li, and Liu Qing, stepping into the teleportation formation together.
Following behind them was Xiao Yan's elite force, the 8,000-strong Tiger Devourer Army.
Compared to when Lin Fan first encountered them, the Tiger Devourer Army's strength had risen to new heights. Their formation was tight and perfectly coordinated, exuding a fearsome pressure.
Like a looming black storm, the army surged into the teleportation array.
At once, the massive formation erupted with radiant light, pillars of energy piercing the sky.
Within that blazing radiance, Lin Fan and his people slowly disappeared from the view of the Four Symbols Palace.
…
Eastern Xuan Region – Southern Fringe.
The skies here were peaceful and blue. Flocks of birds occasionally passed overhead, their cheerful cries echoing into the distance.
Buzz…
Suddenly, the calm space began to twist.
Crack!
At the peak of distortion, the sky split apart—ripping open a massive rift in space.
From within that tear, a terrifying wave of murderous intent burst forth, blanketing the skies.
As it spread, the temperature across the region plummeted.
From the rift stepped a tall, handsome figure—none other than Lin Fan, returned from the Demon Region.
Behind him, the rift continued to twist as more and more figures emerged, followed by a tide of warriors exuding overwhelming killing intent.
Their numbers were vast, but not a single sound was heard. They moved as one—perfectly synchronized and terrifying to behold.
"So this is the Eastern Xuan Region? I've never been here before," Liu Qing commented as he surveyed the surroundings with a light smile.
"Where are we exactly?" Xiao Yan asked, glancing around. The area was unfamiliar.
Though they had confirmed they'd arrived in the Eastern Xuan Region, it was so vast that their precise location was unclear.
Lin Fan shrugged. "No idea. Let's pick a direction and ask around."
No one objected.
With that, they chose a direction and advanced rapidly. In just a few minutes, they had traveled thousands of miles—yet hadn't seen a single soul.
What they did see, however, was devastation. The land was ruined, clearly the aftermath of a brutal battle.
"Looks like Yuan Gate's war has swept across the entire Eastern Xuan Region," Xiao Diao said, frowning.
Lin Fan nodded slightly. Then his expression changed as he looked toward the distance. "A large group is heading this way."
Moments later, Lin Dong and Xiao Diao sensed it too—an approaching force of around ten thousand, led by someone at the mid-Death Profound Stage.
"Should we make contact?" Xiao Diao asked, glancing at Lin Fan.
Lin Fan smiled. "Yes. Let's see where we are. And there's a familiar face in that group."
With a wave of his hand, Lin Fan led everyone forward to meet the approaching force.
…
Rumble…
A group of weary and battle-damaged warriors raced down a wide road. They constantly glanced behind them, faces filled with panic.
At the front of the group, a middle-aged woman, pale and injured, struggled to maintain pace. Blood stained the corners of her mouth.
"Aunt Mo, are you okay?"
A young woman in a blue dress asked anxiously, her voice full of worry. She was beautiful, her face filled with concern.
"I'm fine, Lan Ying," the woman replied. "If they catch up, I'll stay behind. You lead the others to Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace. You'll be safe there."
"But Aunt—"
"Stop!" The woman's face suddenly changed. She raised a hand and barked the command.
The fleeing soldiers halted, alert and on guard.
They soon saw what had caused her alarm—a massive force in black armor, suspended in the sky ahead. Their killing aura was tangible, thick enough to make the air feel heavy.
Aunt Mo's eyes filled with horror. She could barely breathe in the presence of these warriors.
Especially the ten figures at the front—the pressure they gave off made her tremble uncontrollably.
"They don't look like Yuan Gate forces," Lan Ying whispered.
Those words snapped Aunt Mo out of her daze. She quickly bowed toward Lin Fan and his group.
"We didn't know such powerful seniors were ahead. I am Mo Yun, elder of Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace. If we've offended you in any way, please forgive us."
"No need for that," Lin Fan replied with a faint smile.
With a flick of his hand, a wave of invisible force gently lifted the woman.
Then, his gaze shifted to the young lady in the blue dress. "Miss Lan Ying… It's been years. I hope you've been well."
Everyone turned to look at her.
Lan Ying blinked in surprise, then exchanged a glance with Aunt Mo. Slowly, she looked up at the tall, handsome young man before her.
There was something incredibly familiar about that face.
