Xiao Yan glanced at them and then stepped aside, gesturing toward Lin Fan and Lin Dong. "This is my big brother Lin Fan, and second brother Lin Dong."
At those words, the five generals froze and scrutinized the two newcomers.
One of them couldn't help but grin. "General Yan, one at Major Completion, one at Minor Completion of the Death Profound Realm... don't tell me these are the reinforcements you brought to deal with Xu Zhong?"
"You know how dangerous tomorrow will be. This isn't the time for jokes!" another man, with a black steel-like tail wrapped around his waist, frowned and spoke seriously.

Before his words even faded, the space around Lin Fan twisted violently.

Then, Lin Dong looked at the five and said, "Show me your arms. I'll remove the Dark Abyss Ghost Runes."

"Hehe, General Yan—so you've arrived," said a dark-skinned man clad in black-scaled armor atop the wall, clasping his hands with a fake smile.
"You know the rules. No army is allowed to ascend Thunder Abyss Mountain. All troops must remain at the base."
Xiao Yan looked up at the man and grinned. "Sky Crocodile General, do you really think your men can stop my Tiger Devouring Army?"
The man's expression shifted, but he forced a laugh. "I'm just following orders. If you've got a problem, take it up with the Marshal."
Onlookers from various factions around the checkpoint watched with wide eyes, not daring to speak.
Hearing Xu Zhong's name used as a threat, Xiao Yan simply smiled—but a flash of killing intent passed through his eyes.
"Tiger Devouring Army, listen up! Rest at the base of the mountain!"
"Yes, sir!"
A thunderous response echoed as the army sat down where they stood, blocking half the entrance in the process.
"Big Bro, Second Bro—let's go," Xiao Yan said, leaping off his beast and beckoning Lin Fan and Lin Dong to follow.
The two nodded and moved with him.
"Wait—who are those two? They look unfamiliar!" the Sky Crocodile General suddenly shouted from above.
