Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: One vs. Two

"I'll take care of the two bloodline limit users with Shikotsumyaku and Ice Release. I can handle them alone," said Uchiha Yuan.

"I'll handle the remaining four Chunin. I should be able to hold them off," said Hyuga Asana.

"And don't forget about me! My Mind Body Switch Technique is very reliable now—I can help too!" Yamanaka Kagetsu added quickly.

"Kagetsu, you'll be in charge of maintaining intel communication between us," said Shibi Aburame.

"I can fight and keep our link active at the same time!"

"Sensei, just let Kagetsu support me. We'll try to take out those four Genin," said Hyuga Asana.

Since Asana insisted, Shibi no longer objected.

"Then let's begin the operation!" With that, Shibi was the first to charge forward.

Uchiha Yuan, Hyuga Asana, and Yamanaka Kagetsu followed close behind.

Once they got within 200 meters, Shibi slapped the large container on his back.

BZZZZ~ With the buzzing of insects, countless kikaichū flew out of the jar.

"Ah! Help!"

"Get them off me!"

Cries of agony quickly came from the Mist ninjas' side.

The Mist ninja originally wanted to stop Shibi's group from advancing, but seeing their comrades overwhelmed by insects, they abandoned the attack and rushed to help.

But once Shibi's kikaichū latch onto someone, there's no shaking them off. The two Mist ninja were dead within seconds.

Seizing the chaos, Shibi's team rushed to the water source.

"Stick to the plan!" Shibi commanded and then sent his kikaichū toward the Jōnin-level ninja.

Uchiha Yuan teleported right in front of the two bloodline-limit users from the Kaguya and Yuki clans.

Hyuga Asana and Yamanaka Kagetsu engaged the remaining Chunin.

"A little Uchiha brat like you… you're not thinking of taking us both on, are you?" asked Hoshi, the Yuki clan woman, expressionless.

"That's exactly what I'm thinking."

"You bastard! Looking down on me?!" roared Kaguya Toshihiko as several 20–30 cm long bone spikes protruded from his body.

Using smooth, precise taijutsu paired with the bone spikes, Toshihiko launched a flurry of attacks.

Yuan remained calm, activated his Sharingan, and summoned his horizontal blade.

With the dynamic vision of his Sharingan, Toshihiko's moves looked like slow motion. Yuan easily parried all the attacks.

Clang clang clang! The blade collided with bone, but Yuan effortlessly deflected every strike.

"This guy's taijutsu… it's almost like those samurai from the Land of Iron," Hoshi muttered, frowning.

Toshihiko, furious that his attacks were so easily blocked, grew more enraged.

Members of the Kaguya clan were known for being muscle-headed battle maniacs. Instead of adapting, Toshihiko intensified his assault.

He pulled a bone sword from his left arm and charged again.

The Kaguya clan's flexibility allowed them to launch attacks at strange angles, almost dance-like in fluidity.

But such finesse was meaningless against the Sharingan. Yuan blocked every strike with ease.

Now completely enraged, Toshihiko ripped out his spine and swung it like a whip.

Yuan immediately recalled Kimimaro's fight against Gaara and Rock Lee from the original series—Kimimaro used this move to bind his enemies before delivering a final bone spear strike.

Knowing exactly what Toshihiko was planning, Yuan prepared to evade with Body Flicker.

But just then, he felt a chill—literally.

He recognized this trick too. A Yuki clan Jōnin named Qing had used Ice Release: Frozen Snow on his legs before.

Hoshi seemed to be trying the same—immobilize him so Toshihiko could land his attack.

Yuan decided to play along. He pretended to be frozen in place.

Toshihiko's spine whip wrapped around him, binding him.

"You bastard! Who told you to interfere?!" Toshihiko turned and yelled.

"Without my Ice Release: Frozen Snow, he would've escaped with Body Flicker. Your Dance of Clematis: Vine couldn't bind him alone."

"No way! That technique is so fast—he wouldn't have gotten away even without you!"

Hoshi rolled her eyes, not even bothering to argue with a Kaguya fool.

Toshihiko assumed he'd won the argument, laughed twice, and thrust a bone spike from his wrist at Yuan's heart.

But to his shock, Yuan vanished just as the bone was about to hit.

Toshihiko spun around and found Yuan standing before Hoshi.

Hoshi had also believed Yuan was locked down. Between the frozen snow and the spine whip, he shouldn't have escaped—he should've been dead.

But now he was right in front of her.

She raised her hands to form a seal, but their eyes met—and all she saw was the scarlet glow of the Sharingan.

Her movements froze. Her arms dropped.

Yuan didn't hesitate. He swung his blade.

Hoshi's head flew off.

Yuan blinked. Honestly, he hadn't meant to decapitate her—he'd only intended to slash her throat.

But the blade was sharper than expected; with just a bit of force, it had lopped her head clean off.

The blood loss made Yuan feel slightly queasy.

But it wasn't the time for discomfort—Toshihiko was already charging.

Yuan teleported behind him, formed hand seals: "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Bullet!"

This was his most powerful fire jutsu.

He released it just ten meters behind Toshihiko.

The roaring dragon-shaped flame rushed forward with its jaws wide.

Toshihiko couldn't dodge in time and was engulfed instantly.

Screams rang out as he was incinerated.

Through Mind's Eye, Yuan confirmed no signs of life remained.

He had won the 1v2 battle.
