Chapter 441 - Chapter 441: Terran’s origins

[Author Note: I want to make a couple of quick announcements regarding chapter releases.

First of is that, the 2nd chapter on Friday and Saturday will be released, depending on how many chapters I managed to successfully write the week before, because of work and IRL stuff.

Second is that the promo I put out before has been hit, meaning that 5 bonus chapters will be released over the coming days, unfortunatly I can't mass release them all as my backlog took a hit this week as work was manic, sorry about that.]

"Earth? You mean like what we are standing on? What sort of shitty name is that?" Celeste asked.

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Now that she mentions it, Earth is a rather shitty name for a planet.]

[HackerSu (Trillion): Agreed. Why not just call it rock instead?]

[OfficialMuriel (Aqua Primus): Maybe water? Assuming their planet is made up mostly of water.]

[HackerSu (Trillion): Hmmm, yeah, that would make more sense.]

[The viewers from Earth: ….]

"Outside it, huh? That could explain why I'm sensing pureblood from him, the Terrans originally migrated to Terrana Five after all," Vlad replied.

"The Terrans are not originally from Terrana Five?" Adam asked in surprise.

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Hold shit, did we just get a major plot reveal?]

[Beczontop (Imperial Down): It's nothing that amazing. It's common knowledge in the known universe that we Terrans migrated from another planet that was facing destruction.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Common knowledge in the known universe is not common for us.]

[Beczontop (Imperial Down): Good point.]

[Whostolemyduck (Earth): What was your original planet called?]

[Beczontop (Imperial Down): No idea. It was a very long time ago that our ancestors fled.]

[Tessisdabest (Imperial Down): The tale goes that our ancestral home faced an apocalypse that our ancestors, even with all their advanced knowledge, were unable to prevent. As a last-ditch attempt for the Terran race to survive. The majority of our race boarded starships and set out into space to find a new home.

Unfortunately, at that time, we had not discovered faster-than-light travel, so everyone was put into stasis for the long voyage except a small handful of crew members on each ship who kept them operational. Every couple of years, new crew members would awaken from stasis to replace them.

During the long voyage, many of the ships were lost, either destroyed or drifted off course, until only a small number remained, which was led by the largest ship and its captain, Joseph Terran. He successfully led our people to what is now called Terran Five and became the Terran races' first emperor.

We changed the name of our race to Terran in his honour.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Wow. 😳]

[Emojisonly (Earth): 😳]

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): What an amazing story and also such a sad one.]

[Superhearofangirl (Earth): The first emperor sounds like a real hero.]

"Correct, they are from a planet far outside even today's known universe," Vlad replied.

"I see," Adam replied.

"Would you honour this progenitor's request of allowing me to see your face?" Vlad asked with a smile.

Adam shrugged before deactivating his mask, which disappeared into his anti-gravity armour.

"A Terran?" Celeste asked in surprise before realising something and adding, "Wait, Rowena said you're from outside the known universe, so why do you look so much like the Terrans?"

"I can't answer that. I was just as surprised when I first encountered the Terrans," Adam replied.

"Although extremely rare, it is not unheard of for two different races to share similar features and attributes," Vlad stated knowingly.

"Well, sure, I mean, look at all the different subspecies of Catonians," Celeste replied before adding, "But they at least have minor differences like their ears, tails or fur in general. This guy looks almost exactly Terran, apart from not being as handsome."

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Ouch, burn. 🔥]

[Emojisonly (Earth): 🔥]

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): It's gotta hurt every time he's reminded of that. Kekeke.]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): The truth hurts. 😏]

"So what's this pureblood thing?" Celeste asked curiously.

Vlad, however, didn't answer and instead turned to Rowena and asked in a serious tone, "Have you fed on him?"

"No, progenitor. I have been resisting," Rowena replied.

[Justiceistruth (Earth): Stop resisting and fall to the dark side. 😈]

"What about Stacey? He said that he is dating her," Vlad asked as he remembered Adam's words from before.

"Which I still think is nasty," Celeste commented before adding, "And why didn't you answer my question?"

"Because pureblood is something that I have taken great lengths to cover up, even negotiating with the Universal Senate about it," Vlad explained.

"Really? Why?" Celeste asked curiously.

"Because pureblood is dangerously addictive to my children. It is like the universe's most addictive drug that also gives amazing benefits with only one major downside."

"Doesn't sound so bad, in fact, it actually sounds great," Celeste remarked before asking, "What's the downside?"

"What do you think would happen if this wondrous drug suddenly stopped being available to you?" Vlad asked in return.

"Ohh, I see," Celeste replied in understanding.

"Only one brood has ever tasted and become addicted to pureblood in the past and they went mad after they could no longer eat it, killing their own kind.

Thankfully, it was when my children first interacted with the Terrans, so only a small envoy group was sent and I was able to use my influence to limit my children's interaction with the Terran race until their blood no longer affected my children in such a way.

"And this Terran lookalike has this pureblood?" Celeste asked.

"Yes," Vlad replied before turning back to Rowena and asking, "How is Stacey and how is the pureblood affecting her since she's only a quarter Brood?"

"It's changing her, she's becoming more Brood and less Terran," Rowena replied.

"Really?" Vlad replied with surprise and interest.

"Is such a thing possible? I thought only non-Brood could be turned into Brood and turning an individual who is already part Brood had no effect?"

"There is one individual who can make someone who is part Brood fully Brood," Rowena replied as she flickered towards Vlad before returning to Celeste and adding, "But the progenitor has not done so in a long time, as far as I'm aware."

"You're correct," Vlad replied before explaining, "I got fed up with those that were partially my children asking me to make them fully Brood. I may be a progenitor, but even I need to be careful when altering someone's body, and so I stopped taking those requests and will only do it if I deem it absolutely necessary."

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): I hate it when the sound goes out like this.]

[LadyErkath (Deverinian Prime): It must be a very sensitive conversation, especially since it involves the Brood progenitor.]

"Is that why you're so surprised to hear about Stacey's change?" Celeste asked.

"Exactly. The pureblood did affect the previous child of mine to eat it. However, since they were already a pure Brood, it only enhanced what was already there and made them stronger.

I never expected Stacey, who is only a twenty-five percent Brood, to start becoming more Brood and less Terran."

"She's over fourty-one percent now," Rowena stated.

"Really? How many times has she fed on you?" Vlad asked Adam with interest.

Adam glanced at Rowena, who nodded before he replied, "Four, maybe five times," Adam replied before remembering something and asking, "Didn't you say you had spoken to the Brood progenitor before about me?"

"Oh?" Vlad said curiously.

"I did," Rowena replied before realising what Adam was getting at and turned to Vlad before asking, "Why did you act like you didn't know about Adam when you had already met him?"

"I have no idea," Vlad replied.

"Huhhh?" Celeste said before asking, "How can you not know?"

"Because if they really have come from the future, that means the conversation we are talking about hasn't happened yet," Vlad replied.

"Ugh!" Celeste replied as she took a moment to get her head around what Vlad said.

"I can only assume that I didn't speak about it back then so as not to alter the timeline," Vlad stated thoughtfully.

"I guess that makes sense. If we were to learn that we would travel back here in time, it might cause us to alter our choices and thus change how or when we travel here, or maybe even prevent us from coming here at all," Adam remarked.

"You seem awfully knowledgeable about this topic," Vlad remarked.

"I've seen a lot of time travel movies," Adam said with a shrug.

"Although I'm curious to learn how your blood will continue to change Stacey, I guess I will have to wait eighteen years to find out," Vlad stated to Adam before changing the subject and asking, "So why did you enter the city? What's your purpose for travelling back in time and coming here?"

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Oh, sounds back again.]

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): I wonder what is so secret that the sound needed to be muted.]

[HackerSu (Trillion): We may never know. I'm interested to see how the progenitor will react when he learns why they are there.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): I honestly expected him to be more shocked when he learnt that they travelled back in time.]

[OracleRomy (Elysium): The progenitors see the universe differently from all of us.]

"Our time travel back here was an accident. The AI on Adam's ship is currently trying to calculate a way for us to return home," Rowena replied before saying, "As for why we are here, well, there are two reasons.

First is to give a business opportunity for Celeste here."

"What sort of business opportunity?" Celeste asked curiously.

"The second is to discover the identity of the person who will stab Stacey in a few hours."

"Stab Stacey?" Celeste asked in shock.

"Oh? Tell me more," Vlad said in curiosity.
