Chapter 379 - Chapter 379: Iridescent

Energy bolts sprayed from Spector Unit 6's mini triple repeaters and sprayed down the twelve missiles Krumzaxl had fired before Adam turned the repeaters on Krumzaxl's mech to slow his approach.

"Tephe, if you can ask Maya to alter the direction of her attack so that we can trap him easier while you and I do the same," Adam instructed in their own private call.

Tephe couldn't respond since she was using her breath attack. However, she must have still been able to communicate with Maya because after a few seconds, both of their attacks started to move towards Krumzaxl while Adam sent a mental command ordering the drones to close in on Krumzaxl and continued to turn the planetary annihilation beam.

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Oh shit, theplanetary annihilation beam is about to hit the jumpgate.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): This is bad, everyone cover your eyes.]

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Huh?]

As the chat watched, the planetary annihilation beam struck the jumpgate; however, it did not disintegrate in the way that Drot's ship had. The jumpgate released a blinding light before exploding and sending out a powerful shockwave.

The shockwave swept out in every direction, and as the closest individual to the point of detonation, Krumzaxl's mech was the first to experience it. The shockwave crashed into Krumzaxl's mech and knocked it out of control, and sent it spinning towards Tephes' breath attack.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" Krumzaxl yelled as he was hit by the unexpected shockwave and quickly tried to get his mech back under control.

{Now,} Adam thought as he sent a mental command to the drones, ordering them to fly right up to Krumzaxl's mech and attach to it.

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): What are the streamers' drones doing? Why did they stop attacking and instead latch onto the enemy mech?]

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): They did what? Ah, my fucking eyes, I still can't see anything from that crazy flashbang we just received.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): I told you to close your eyes.]

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): How are you even writing in chat then?]

[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): I'm using speech-to-text.]

[Whostolemyduck (Earth): What even caused that bright light? I'm still seeing spots even though I closed my eyes.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): It was the jumpgate; they are made of a special mineral that stores energy within them. When the planetary annihilation beam hit it, the amount of energy was too much for it and caused it to overload and explode, thus causing the bright light.]

As the chat wondered what the drones were up to and discussed the bright light, they saw that Krumzaxl's mech, which he had finally started to get under control again, suddenly started to speed up as it headed towards the white hot breath attack that Tephe was still releasing.

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Is that guy committing suicide?]

[HackerSu (Trillion): Why would he fly towards a dragon's breath attack?]

"What the fuck is going on?" Krumzaxl asked in a confused voice.

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): So that's it. The streamers' drones are forcing his mech towards White Dragon Tephe's breath attack.]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): You appear to be right.]

[Gunlovergirl (Earth): 🤣 The streamer is pushing him to his death.]

[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): I'm kind of sad that we won't see him being disintegrated by the planetary annihilation beam, but this is still cool.]

"STOP, STOP YOU STUPID MECH, WHY ARE YOU FLYING THAT WAY?" Krumzaxl shouted in fear.

[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Kekeke, he doesn't even know what's happening.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): I guess he didn't notice the drones attaching to his mech while he was spinning out of control and focusing on trying to regain control.]

"I think it's only fair that Tephe be allowed to finish you off since you've tried to attack her with those missiles earlier," Adam stated in the open comm before adding, "Let's see if you can survive a dragon's breath attack."

Tephe heard Adam's words, and in her excitement and happiness at Adam giving her this opportunity, she focused even more of her energy into her breath attack, causing it to start increasing in size and ferocity.

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): HOLY! Did Tephe just level up mid-fight?]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): That's one major power spike.]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Where did this extra power come from?]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): She must be focusing more of her energy on the attack.]

As Tephe focused more of her energy and her breath attack intensified, her scales started to shimmer and shine like back when she opened the subspace tear.

[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): She's doing that shimmering glow thing again, beautiful. 😍]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): What! That shouldn't be possible.]

[Whostolemyduck (Earth): Is something wrong?]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): Is she harnessing the power of the subspace energy within her to enhance her breath attack?]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): That's what it looks like, but I've never heard of a dragon being capable of doing such a thing.]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): You're right. Their breath attacks and the energy they release are two completely different types of energy that it's apparently impossible to combine.]

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Any idea what they're on about?]

As her scales continued to brighten, her white scales seemed to turn iridescent and release a rainbow-like play of colours that changed depending on the angle from which the stream cameras displayed her, while her breath attack also took on a rainbow hue.

💫💫💫

On the planet Aaru, Raphilia and Andromeda sat watching Adam's stream with looks of surprise as they saw Tephe's scales start turning from white to iridescent.

"How is something like this possible? It's supposed to be impossible; the dragons have always stated that their breath attack and the energy that allows them to travel in subspace come from two different places in their bodies, and thus make it impossible for them to harness them both at the same time. However, right now we are witnessing that fact, have they been lying to us all along?" Raphilia asked and waited for Andromeda's answer that never came.

Confused as to why Andromeda didn't answer her, Raphilia turned and saw that Andromeda was gazing at the large holographic screen showing the stream with glazed eyes.

"Don't tell me," Raphilia said in surprise as she recognised the look just before Andromeda opened her mouth and spoke.

"The time for the birth of the Iridescent Dragon is nigh.

The race once thought to have reached its pinnacle will learn that it still has more room to grow.

The Iridescent Dragon, her mate and her sisters will bring great change to the universe in ways that no one is expecting."

As she finished speaking, Andromeda's eyes that had been glazed over returned to normal as she regained her senses.

"A prophecy?" Raphilia asked as she saw her friend return to normal.

"So it would seem, who would have thought Tephe would receive a second prophecy, though it's not unheard of," Andromeda replied.

"Not unheard of? You jest," Raphilia said while rolling her eyes as she continued, "Most people never receive a prophecy and almost as few ever receive a second one."

"True, however, White Dragons have always had a higher probability of receiving a second prophecy since they always receive one at birth."

"But has it ever happened before?"

"Only with the first-ever White Dragon."

"So, any idea what it means?"

"Hmmmm," Andromeda said as she thought carefully before speaking.

"The first line obviously relates to her current iridescent scales. I guess little Tephe figured out how to harness the subspace energy within her in more ways than just for subspace travel.

The second line is just saying that the Dragon race that we once thought had reached the pinnacle of their being, actually has more room to grow.

The third and final line is where we have to use some guesswork. The Iridescent Dragon, her mate and her sisters. Her mate is obvious since dragons take a mate instead of getting married.

Her sisters, however, can mean several different things: her dragon sisters, her friends, her mates, other lovers, as just some examples."

"Would White Dragon Tephe, or should I say Iridescent Dragon Tephe, really take a mate who has other lovers, though?" Raphilia asked doubtfully.

"She was asking the streamer for a kiss as a reward, remember, and he already has two lovers, so I don't see why not."

"I suppose, not sure how the other dragons would take that; however, considering how proud they are, it's actually surprising that Iridescent Dragon Tephe is willing to consider that, considering how much of a brat she used to be when she was younger, I just hope this new power doesn't go to her head and revert her to her bratty nature."

"I think she will be fine," Andromeda replied with a smile before continuing, "The last part of the prophecy talks about them bringing changes to the universe that no one is expecting. I honestly can't comment on this since it says 'no one is expecting', that naturally includes me, and therefore any predictions I make will naturally be incorrect."

"I presume you plan to inform her of this new prophecy?"

"Correct, but it will have to wait until after her current battle," Andromeda replied before looking back at the large holographic screen.
