Even Ran appears confused and angry at this turn of events, as he is now openly complaining to the Abes' coach about being substituted.

"It's nothing to apologise for, it just goes to show how passionate about the sport you are, which I find very endearing," Adam replied, making Lorelie smile and blush before asking.
"Could there be a clause in his contract saying that they can't sub him out?"Ā
"That's not possible, is it?" Lorelie asked in disbelief.

"Well, you did say that Murphy was one of the best Water Sphere players right now and was on form to win MVP this season," Adam stated.
"Well, yeah, but no team is stupid enough to agree to a clause like that, I mean, a player can't always have good games.
I mean, even Muriel had off games, no offence."

"Then what other reason could there be?"
"I don't know," Lorelie replied while shaking her head as she sat down with Adam again.
"Could it be his relationship to the royal family? I mean, the Oceana Abes are a team from Oceana Seven, and he is related to the royal family." Adam suggested.
"No way," Lorelie replied immediately before continuing, "The only time the royal family ever gets involved with Water Sphere is when the Universal Cup is hosted in the Oasis Galaxy. Even if Murphy is related to them, it's only by marriage because his aunt is the queen and not by blood."Ā
"Then I got no clue," Adam replied.
"This stinks, the only chance the Abes had of winning this was if they subbed that idiot out," Lorelie complained.
"So why don't we leave then?" Adam suggested.
"Huh?" Lorelie replied with a confused look as she turned to Adam while asking, "But you came here wanting to see a match, and there are still twenty-plus minutes left."
"True, but I also came here as part of our date, and it's not exactly a very good date if you're not enjoying yourself. Besides, there will be more Water Sphere games we can go watch in the future."Ā
"Well, that's true." Lorelie replied thoughtfully."
