Adam placed his hand on the biometrics scanner and waited patiently as the scanner lit up as it started scanning his hand.
After a few moments the biometrics scanner turned green and dinged.
"Very girl, next is the retinal scanner if you please." The staff member said, indicating the retinal scanner.
[Superhearofangirl (Earth): Wait what?]
[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Seriously?]
[SciFifanboy (Earth): Shocked face emoji.]
"Adam moved over the retinal scanner and lined up his fake left eye before the retinal scanner started to emit a beam of light scanning his eye."
After a few moments the retinal scanner beeped and the light disappeared as the staff member spoke.
"Very good, you have passed the security check Miss Sanders, please head into room number four on the right hand side as someone will deliver your safety deposit box to you soon."
Thank you." Adam said before moving towards room number four.
[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): What the hell, he actually passed security.]
[Forever1stCommenter (Earth): …]
[StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Can someone explain this to me?]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Wow even I'm surprised, I'm honestly not sure how he passed the security checks since he didn't take out any tech to trick the scanners that I saw.]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Agreed.]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): I heard about this stream off the Xer-verse post and it's living up to the hype. I can't believe someone is actually doing a bank heist, even if it's on a primitive planet.]
[Gunlovergirl (Earth): Primitive?]
[Justiceistruth: (Earth): Who are you calling primitive?]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Sorry sorry, I meant no offence, it's just your level of technology is so much lower than those connected to the universal subspace network.]
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): What exactly is this universal subspace network you all keep talking about?]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Let me explain. Even though your planet does not seem to be capable of space exploration yet, I'm sure you're aware that the universe is vast, immeasurably so.]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Even the most advanced and ancient races in the universe are unclear of how vast it actually is as only some of it has been explored.]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): The universal subspace network is basically what it sounds like. It's a giant network that connects all the viable planets via subspace which is a means of transferring data almost instantaneously to anywhere in the galaxy.]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): This is how we are able to watch the stream from your planet when we are in a galaxy millions of lightyears away.]
[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): I still find it hard to believe we are talking to people from another planet.]
[SciFifanboy (Earth): I know their aliens, it's so SciFi.]
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): It really is out of this world, literally. But how does one acquire this subspace technology?]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): There are a few different ways, the first is obviously for a planet to develop it themselves, however while in the past that was the primary way, these days it's less likely unless the planet in question is far out in unexplored space.]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): The second and more common way is when an exploration vessel that is exploring the unknown reaches of the universe comes into contact with a planet with sentient life. If said planet is technologically advanced enough then communication is established and as part of friendly relations the planet will be given the subspace technology as well as the right to join the universal senate by creating their own galactic senate.]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Of course there are planets in the universe who are not part of the universal senate either because they refused to join or because they left for whatever reason, however they still have the subspace technology, and once it is activated it automatically connects to the universal subspace network.]
[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Is this universal senate a place where leaders decide laws and policy?]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Exactly with the universal senate deciding laws and setting policy on a universal scale, such as not contacting species that are not technologically advanced enough, that law was created by the universal senate. It allows less advanced civilizations to develop on their own until they are ready to learn about something bigger than their own planet, also these less advanced civilisations can not really offer anything to make it worth contacting them at that stage.]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Below the universal senate are the galactic senates. A galactic senate creates laws based on those of the universal senate and governs their own galaxy. They also nominate who will represent them in the universal senate.]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Finally below that is each planetary senate which creates laws based on the galactic and universal senates above them and governs their specific planet.]
[Justiceistruth: (Earth): Wow, but what about individual countries on those planets?]
[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Pardon?]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): I believe they are talking about before a planet becomes unified under one banner. In Vinox 2's history, our planet once had different nations and powers battling for supremacy and resources. I believe that's what you meant, correct?]
[Justiceistruth: (Earth): Yes.]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Almost all planets that operate on the galactic and universal scale have seen how unification is more beneficial to them than fighting amongst themselves since what they are fighting for on their own planet is insignificant next to what awaits them in the universe.]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): I'm guessing from your question that your planet Earth still has nations and powers competing against one another?]
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): That is correct.]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Fascinating. While there are planets out there that are stuck in their ways fighting amongst themselves, this is almost always because of religion. I still can't work out how it is that your planet is accessing the universal subspace network when the network itself doesn't recognise your planet.]
Adam was reading the chat with interest as he was learning things about the galaxy he didn't know. It's not like he didn't want to know, he was in fact very curious about the universe as a whole, especially after what Spector had told him it was. However he simply hadn't had the time to ask. From waking up after recovering to being thrown into training to now taking down his targets.
He promised himself that once all this was over he would ask Spector about the universe and learn more about it.
As Adam was consumed in his thoughts a sudden knock on the door brought him back to reality and the door opened a moment later.
A staff member stepped in with a rectangular shaped lockbox that had two key holes. After inserting a key that they carried themselves and unlocking one of the locks the staff member turned to Adam and said.
"Please hand over the safety deposit box to the staff member at the desk when you are done and they will have it returned to the safe."
Adam nodded before the man left the room, shutting the door behind him.
Adam took a breath and tried to open the lid of the lockbox, however it wouldn't move.
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): Maybe it needs a key?]
[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Came all this way past a weapons detector, biometrics scanner and retinal scanner to be stopped by a keyhole kekeke.]
[Superhearofangirl (Earth): Ok that's funny.]
[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Hahaha.]
Adam frowned as he thought for a moment before he looked at his uniband.
"Well Spector did say it could open any lock with low security." He mumbled more to himself before he held the uniband up to the keyhole.
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): Bro it's a keyhole, it's not electronic.]
[SciFifanboy (Earth): That's not SciFi bro.]
[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Here my electronic hacking tool, turn into a key so I can hack this please kekeke.]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Err what's he doing? Unibands can't hack non-electronic things.]
[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Search me.]
As the chat was ridiculing him the uniband let out a soft light towards the keyhole as if it was scanning it. A moment later Adam and the chat watched in amazement as the uniband seemed to grow an extra part of itself that stretched to several centimetres before the end turned into what looked suspiciously like a key.
[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Hey hey hey hey hey, I was only joking, you're not actually supposed to be able to do that. right , right. Hey friends from outer space, is that legal?]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): No that's definitely not legal. I have never seen a uniband do that, have any of you?]
[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Nope but I want one that can.]
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Nope. Do you think it's a new model.]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Nope and no idea.]
[SciFifanboy (Earth): Ok I was wrong, that is so SCIFI.]
Adam smirked at the chats response as he inserted the key and unlocked the lock box before opening it as his uniband returned to normal as if it knew its job was done.
