Qingwu had no idea what was happening behind the scenes.

Not long after Qingwu left the Trial Base, he immediately released his Golbat. Using the moonlight, it soared high into the sky. Looking at the moon, which resembled a grinding stone, Qingwu wondered if his expedition to capture his desired Pokémon would be successful.

Qingwu had two Pokémon he wanted to capture on this trip: first, Mudkip, and second, Gastly.

The map of Trial Island indicated the most probable location for Mudkip. Qingwu had witnessed the scene of Swampert battling Sharpedo, so he naturally knew there was a Mudkip clan on this Trial Island. After all, the Overlord Aura emanating from that Swampert was very strong.

Although he unexpectedly obtained a Squirtle with good potential, the Pokémon Qingwu desired more was Mudkip.

Qingwu planned to spend the remaining three days searching for these two Pokémon. If he couldn't find them, Qingwu would have to give up. After all, Gastly appeared in Lavender Tower in the Kanto Region and Mt. Pyre in the Hoenn Region.

His evolved Golbat was more than twice as fast as it was when it was a Zubat. A journey that would originally take two or three hours was covered by Golbat in less than an hour.

Qingwu's destination was the largest lake on Trial Island. The Pokémon around the lake were all quite strong, which would also make it convenient for Qingwu's Pokémon to train.

Under the moonlight, the bright moonlight shimmered on the rippling lake. Gusts of wind blew, making it pleasantly cool.

However, Qingwu didn't dare to enter the lake at night to search for Mudkip's traces. Although it was spring, the lake water was still icy cold, and the Pokémon active at night were all extremely powerful.

So Qingwu, just like before, found a large tree that required two or three people to hug, climbed high up its trunk, and had Golbat use Secret Power.

Golbat's body glowed with white light, and its wings pressed against one side of the tree trunk. The white light continuously flowed into the tree trunk, making a hissing sound, as if the tree was being eaten by worms.

After ten-odd seconds, Golbat gently peeled back the bark with its wing, revealing countless tiny wood chips gushing out from the trunk. Golbat, with practiced ease, used Hurricane, compressing these wood chips into clumps and throwing them far away.

Countless wood chips, emitting the fresh scent of wood, drifted in the moonlight.

Golbat's Hurricane had thoroughly cleaned the entire secret base. Qingwu stepped directly into the tree trunk.

This secret base was even larger than the last one, about five or six square meters. Qingwu could even stretch his legs and lie down in the secret base.

Qingwu drilled several small holes in the bark for ventilation in the secret base, and also inserted infrared cameras into the bark. Qingwu wanted to record how many Pokémon were in the vicinity, and he also wanted to see if the high-definition cameras could capture any traces of Mudkip.

This high-definition camera made the area appear as bright as day under infrared light. Qingwu only needed to connect it to his laptop and write a small program. As long as a dynamic image of a Mudkip was captured, the laptop would immediately sound an alarm, alerting Qingwu.

The continuous toil of the past few days, coupled with the fragrant scent of the trees in the secret base, made Qingwu fall into a deep sleep soon after he had Golbat stand guard.

He didn't know how long passed, but Qingwu heard a beeping sound. Qingwu woke up with a start, realizing he had drooled in his deep sleep.

Qingwu wiped his mouth and checked the laptop's records. Indeed, he saw traces of Mudkip, and not just one. They were playing in the lake under the moonlight, and two or three Swampert were guarding them nearby. Among them was the Swampert Qingwu had seen before.

That Swampert directly smashed a Mightyena, which was attempting a sneak attack on the Mudkip, into a tree with one punch. The entire tree's leaves rustled from the shock, and the Mightyena let out a final wail before collapsing to the ground, unable to move.

Swampert was setting an example, warning all would-be ambushers who dared to approach: this was their fate. Even the Golbat flying in the night sky were detected by Swampert's radar-like fins. Swampert opened its mouth and spat out an Ice Beam into mid-air. Three or four large Golbat were instantly frozen in blocks of ice, falling into the water, their fates unknown.

These Pokémon, realizing they couldn't do anything to this Swampert, retreated one after another, all being the type to bully the weak and fear the strong.

The Mudkip played for a while, then followed the Swampert towards the center of the lake.

"Golbat, quick, follow Swampert!" Qingwu immediately attached the infrared camera to Golbat's leg, and had Golbat quietly follow behind Swampert to find the Mudkip and Swampert's habitat.

Under the cover of night, a black shadow darted out of the tree hollow, flapping its wings and using the moonlight to covertly track the Mudkip's trail. Qingwu, after releasing Aron to stand guard, once again fell into a dream.

When Qingwu woke up, Golbat had already returned. Based on the camera content Golbat brought back, Qingwu found the Mudkip's habitat to be at the center of the lake island.

However, Qingwu also noticed something: that Overlord-class Pokémon was constantly eating, just like a Snorlax. Qingwu, seeing this, stroked his chin, thoughtfully recalling a phenomenon he had studied before, and secretly devised a plan.

"Golbat, we still need to gather some materials. Can you help me check if there's a Berry forest nearby? I need to gather some Berries." Qingwu flicked his finger, sending all of Golbat's daily Energy Cubes into Golbat's mouth.

"Let's go, Golbat," Qingwu patted Golbat's head.

Golbat instantly went (ˉ▽ˉ;)...(ˉ▽ˉ;)...(ˉ▽ˉ;)...

I flew all night, didn't even get a second nap. Can you please not exploit a freshly evolved cute little bat so much?

Why is my life so miserable? Golbat resignedly flew out of the secret base, circling nearby to see if there were any fresh Berries.

Not long after, Golbat found a nearby Berry forest.

Three hours later, Qingwu was mixing the final liquid in the tree hollow.

"Done," Qingwu said. He had created a tube of indigo potion that exuded a clear, translucent color like the ocean.

"Let's go," Qingwu patted the half-dead Golbat, which had just fallen asleep.

"ε=(ο`*))) Ahh, what a laborious life, exhausting a bat to death," Golbat grumbled.

Golbat flapped its wings, carrying Qingwu, and flew towards the Mudkip's habitat.

Swampert was once again awakened by hunger, its stomach continuously rumbling from emptiness. "Hungry, so hungry," Swampert mechanically woke up, found its pre-stored food, and devoured it ravenously like a machine.

After eating all its stored food, Swampert finally felt its stomach a little more comfortable. But Swampert knew this was an illusion. It had to find food immediately, or its powerful stomach acid would make Swampert devour everything it saw.

Qingwu and Golbat had arrived at the lake island early, hiding in a bush. Qingwu lay on the ground, with several leafy branches he had pulled from the bush stuck in his head as camouflage. If the Mudkip didn't look carefully, they wouldn't even notice a person hidden in the bush.

Qingwu watched as many Mudkip played on the lake island and began to activate his system to detect their potential. Qingwu hadn't expected such a large clan to develop here. There were over a hundred Mudkip alone, and beside them were Mudkip's evolutions, Marshtomp and Swampert.

However, since Marshtomp and Swampert had already evolved, they had lost some of their potential. Qingwu decided it would be better to focus on checking the Mudkip. After Qingwu finished scanning the Mudkip's potential, he found that the Mudkip in this clan all had decent potential, at least Orange Potential or higher. Yellow Potential accounted for most, and the scattered Light Green Potential displayed in the system looked very out of place.

"This shouldn't be. Only Light Green Potential Pokémon, this shouldn't be." Such a large clan, so many Mudkip, how could there not be a single Mudkip with Dark Green Potential?

Feeling a bit frustrated, Qingwu decided to shift his attention to the Marshtomp. "If the Marshtomp's potential is good, I'll just accept it." Qingwu would at most prepare more Pokémon resources to forcefully boost the Marshtomp's potential.

Unfortunately, the Marshtomp also failed completely. The highest potential was a Green Potential Marshtomp.

"Then I'll just check the Swampert," Qingwu thought, bracing himself for the worst. As expected, Swampert also disappointed Qingwu. The highest potential was also a Green Potential Swampert.

Just as Qingwu was about to have Golbat catch a Light Green Potential Mudkip, the starving Swampert returned.

Having devoured countless fish, Swampert's stomach finally felt a little more comfortable; it was no longer cramping intermittently. It needed to return to its nest to rest for a while, saving some stamina, as hunger always affected its combat. If it hadn't suddenly gotten hungry during its battle with Sharpedo, it would have directly smashed Sharpedo's head. Swampert, holding up its sandbag-sized fists, demonstrated its fury. It was still indignant.

It's all this stomach's fault. I really can't control it. Sometimes Swampert even felt it might eat its own Pokémon eggs in its sleep.

Just as Qingwu was about to catch that Light Green Potential Mudkip, he saw this Swampert's attributes.

Qingwu saw the full list of moves. It practically blinded his titanium alloy dog eyes. It was truly a case of "when the mountains and rivers end, there is no road; when the willows darken, there is another village."

Qingwu planned to follow it and see if there were any Pokémon eggs in its nest. As expected, Qingwu saw a beautiful nest in the distance. The nest neatly contained five unhatched Pokémon eggs.

The tired Swampert did not, as usual, detect someone following behind it. Instead, it lumbered with its exhausted body, lying down in its old nest to guard the Pokémon eggs.

Qingwu approached stealthily and scanned the Pokémon eggs. The two Orange Potential and three Green Potential lights that lit up filled Qingwu with delight.

Swampert immediately began to snore loudly, its snores rising and falling like crashing waves. Qingwu threw the prepared, highly satiating Energy Cubes into Swampert's mouth. Swampert ate the Energy Cubes in its sleep. Swampert felt its stomach slightly more comfortable for the first time while sleeping without hunger. Qingwu suddenly saw Swampert's bell-like eyes open, staring intently at the Energy Cubes in Qingwu's hand.

"It's this thing that stopped my stomach from being hungry," Swampert thought, staring at the orange-red Energy Cubes.

Swampert raised its hand, gesturing for more. Qingwu took an indigo potion from his backpack and said to Swampert, "I'll make a deal with you. I'll cure your strange illness, and you'll entrust your children to me." Qingwu pointed at Swampert's Pokémon eggs.
