After finally seeing off Aileen and Rayming, just as Qingwu was about to catch his breath, he heard a knock on the door again.
Qingwu opened the door and found two people in black robes.
"You're Qingwu, right? A big shot said all the materials have been gathered and wants you to come help."
The black-robed figure, wearing a mask with a crying-laughing expression, spoke to Qingwu.
Seeing Qingwu's vigilant expression, the black-robed figure suddenly patted his head.
"The big shot also instructed that if you don't believe me, I should shout 'bonfire, iron pot, cave, hot soup' at you."
The black-robed figure truly didn't understand why the big shot gave such an instruction, but Qingwu understood perfectly.
Wasn't that the first impression he had after waking up in the cave?
"Please wait a moment. I'll get ready and be right there." Qingwu returned to his room, retrieved his Pokémon directly into their Poké Balls, and put on a hooded robe.
Qingwu concealed his figure within the robe. After tidying his backpack, Qingwu left the room.
"Let's go." The three walked towards the deeper parts of the trial base, a place Qingwu had never stepped into in his previous life.
After passing through layers of inspection, Qingwu finally entered the trial base's laboratory, where Team Rocket's unspeakable experiments were conducted.
Cang and Qiong were already waiting in the laboratory. All of Cang's Pokémon had been released from their Poké Balls.
Upon seeing Qingwu arrive, they all looked at him with gratitude.
"The items have all arrived." Qingwu glanced at the items placed on the experimental table, found nothing missing or extra, and nodded in satisfaction.
"Qingwu, you're here." Cang looked with some disdain at Qiong, who was clinging to him. Qiong had insisted on following, no matter what.
Cang couldn't bear it anymore. After he told Qiong the truth, Qiong also wanted to see this genius teenager who could detoxify the Flowery Shroud.
"You look well." Qingwu noticed Cang's face had gained a little more flesh.
"Arbok, hello. Long time no see." Qingwu stroked Arbok's slippery scales, and Arbok comfortably flicked its tongue.
"Let's begin. First, we need to do a toxin analysis and a physical constitution analysis report. Only then can I adjust the dosage of the antidote," Qingwu said to Cang and Cang's Pokémon.
"I also need to change into a lab coat for the experiment," Qingwu said to the two who brought him.
"Alright, please." The two dazedly led Qingwu to change into a lab coat.
Qingwu also put on protective gloves, a protective mask, and protective glasses. Some of Cang's Pokémon were Poison-type, so proper protection was very important.
"These experimental instruments, do you need someone to introduce them to you?" Cang said ingratiatingly.
After all, it was for his own Pokémon. Cang himself hadn't realized how his mindset had changed, becoming more concerned about his Pokémon's safety.
After all, great understanding comes after great enlightenment. Cang had experienced life and death, only then did he truly understand the preciousness of life.
"No need, I'm familiar with all of these." Qingwu shook his head.
"Endure the pain." Qingwu held a thick syringe with an extremely long needle. Qiong was surprised to find that his fearless older brother was actually afraid of injections and blood draws.
Qingwu looked at Cang, who was trembling like a sieve, and was speechless. This was the ruthless leader of the ANBU, yet he was afraid of injections.
"Relax, relax." Qingwu directly grabbed the needle and pierced it into a vein.
"Ah, ah, ah!" A shrill scream echoed from the scene, like slaughtering a pig.
"Alright, blood's collected." Qingwu took out half a tube of blood and skillfully used Team Rocket's instruments to perform a detailed analysis.
Fifteen minutes later, Qingwu looked at the freshly printed blood toxin analysis report.
"According to the blood analysis results, the toxins in your body have basically been suppressed. This toxin is also very cunning, retracting to your heart. That's why you experience angina for a period each time you breathe," Qingwu said, flipping through the report.
"I'll prepare the antidote for you first." Qingwu picked up the prepared materials and very skillfully extracted various substances for reagent synthesis.
Cang watched Qingwu's busy figure, although he had many questions.
Why would a trial participant know about this toxin and the method for preparing its antidote? Why would he operate various experimental equipment so skillfully?
"Brother, do you want me to look up his detailed information?" Qiong secretly whispered to Cang.
"No need. He saved my life. I don't care about his past, nor do I want to know about it," Cang said sternly.
Cang had already investigated whatever he could. Qingwu's data showed that he came from a large breeding facility in the Hoenn region, that he was the owner of the breeding facility, and that both his parents were deceased. Any further investigation yielded no other information.
"Everyone has their own secrets, including you, including me. We haven't fully disclosed them."
"Boss Sakaki is also someone who prioritizes results over process, so he trusts his subordinates. Let's leave this matter here. I also don't want anything from this lab to be spread outside," Cang said, talking nonsense with a straight face.
"You want to play the long game and catch a big fish?" Qiong said, his eyes darting around.
"Alright, anyway, everyone in the League believes you're definitely going to die, so why don't we play along and make the League think you're really 'dead'? The League won't guard against a dead person." Qiong thought this was an excellent idea.
Once that Poison-type Elite Four knew his newly developed poison had no effect on Team Rocket, he would develop new poisons. So why not let that Poison-type Elite Four gloat for a while?
"The antidote has been prepared. It will taste a bit bitter, but I've tried my best to reduce the bitterness. If it's too much, you can eat some candied fruits."
Qingwu's prepared finished product was a violet potion, constantly bubbling, looking even more like a poison.
"Try it. Anyway, you've died once already. What's the worst that could happen?" Qingwu said directly to Cang.
Cang took the potion, pinched his nose, gathered his courage, and drank it in one gulp. Cang's first feeling was how incredibly bitter it was.
This bitterness was beyond what ordinary people could accept, like an extract from hundreds of pounds of Coptis, unbearably bitter.
"Don't spit it out. If you do, it won't be effective. And don't drink water; it will dilute the potion's effect," Qingwu stopped Cang's impulse to drink water.
"Candied fruits?" Cang looked at Qingwu hopefully.
"I don't have any. How could someone living in the wilderness have candied fruits?" Qingwu shrugged and said self-righteously.
"But I do have an Oran Berry. It's sweet and sour. If you don't mind, it can alleviate the bitterness in your body."
Qingwu took an Oran Berry from his backpack and handed it to Cang. Cang eagerly put the Oran Berry into his mouth.
Cang felt for the first time that an Oran Berry could be so delicious. Its sweet and sour taste neutralized some of the bitterness, making Cang feel like he had finally recovered.
"How many more times do I need to drink the potion?" Cang felt alive again.
"This one time is enough. This potion can neutralize the toxins in your body and convert them into substances beneficial to your body." To be honest, if the risk wasn't too great, Qingwu would have wanted to try it on himself too.
