Soon after Qingwu and Leiming left, a team tracked them to the vicinity of the cave. A golden-haired young girl, who appeared to be the team leader, had a fierce Houndour and a Scyther as her Pokémon.
Houndour looked like a black dog with two bone-like protrusions on its back. Its belly and snout were orange, and it had bone-like structures on each ankle and a stubby tail.
Scyther was a bipedal insectoid creature. Its head was reptilian, with three distinct horns on top.
Its forearms ended in sharp, large scythes used for hunting prey and fighting.
Its thighs were covered in sharp, pointed angles, and each of its two feet had three toes with sharp claws.
The golden-haired girl looked at the scattered corpses outside the cave, which exuded a bloody stench. She covered her nose with her hand and motioned with her eyes to her two subordinates, one tall and one short.
Seeing the gaze cast by Ellen, the tall and short trial participants immediately understood Ellen's meaning.
The tall trial participant went to investigate the cause of death of these participants, to determine what killed them, while the short trial participant checked the situation inside the cave.
After a short while, the short trial participant emerged from the cave.
"Leader Ellen, Leiming is not in the cave, but my Rattata sniffed out that Leiming stayed here for a while. There are traces of an Electric Terrain on the ground, as well as some bloodstains and blood-soaked gauze," a short trial participant told Ellen.
A moment later, the tall trial participant, after examining the bodies of the trial participants, also came to Ellen to report.
"It seems this group that was wiped out was the Noah Trial Team." Noah, as one of the top five, was quite famous.
"Looking at their wounds, their throats were directly slit by sharp blades. Only Noah was pierced through the heart with one strike." "Based on the footprints on the ground, there are a total of eight bodies, but nine pairs of footprints. This indicates that one person completed the kill of the Noah team," the tall and thin trial participant told Ellen, looking at the wounds on the bodies.
"And their armbands and Pokémon were all looted," the tall and thin trial participant reported directly.
"As the trial nears its end, all sorts of strange and sinister characters will appear. The annihilation of the Noah team is a good thing for us."
"Now, Lan Ling's team and Cang Mu's team are frantically hunting other trial participants, trying to secure the final qualifying spots," Ellen said, chewing a bubblegum and blowing a large bubble.
"Aren't we also a group of solo participants formed under the attacks of other trial teams? This means everyone is competing for the qualifying spots," Ellen analyzed.
"Let's go," Ellen said nothing out loud, but she thought more deeply. The Noah team was not much weaker than her own team.
Ellen, being well-informed, immediately recognized that most of the trial participants present had died from being slashed by a Crobat's wings.
This person had two Pokémon, one a Crobat, the other a Rock-type Pokémon.
Because Ellen saw scattered rocks on the ground and recognized that it was a move used by a Rock-type Pokémon.
Moreover, there were many water stains on the ground, clearly indicating that a Water-type Pokémon had battled here.
"I heard Noah has a Totodile, one of the starter Pokémon. It seems this Totodile couldn't defeat the powerful trainer who commanded the Crobat." Ellen thought about it. Among the top five trial participants, only Qingwu and Lan Ling used Crobat.
But Lan Ling was more careful with her reputation and didn't easily make a move, so after ruling out that possibility, it was highly likely that either Qingwu was the one who made the move, or it was a deeply hidden trial participant.
"Qingwu, Qingwu, just how powerful is your strength? How can one person fight a team of eight and still counter-kill them all?" Ellen murmured.
Ellen knew in her heart, but couldn't believe it. How could there be such a huge gap between trial participants?
"Let's go," Ellen said to her team. Everyone rushed towards the base.
As the trial continued, it became increasingly unsafe. Being at the trial base seemed to offer a bit more security.
Team Rocket Trial Base, Frostwolf Office. Qiu proudly held a superior Fire Stone, swinging it back and forth in front of Cang.
"Didn't expect this, did you? I actually managed to trade for a superior Fire Stone! Now my Vulpix can be boosted!" Qiu was practically ready to drink some wine and do a celebratory dance.
"Heh," Cang's mouth twitched slightly. He had never seen such a childish side of his younger brother.
Instructor Frostwolf watched the excellent Fire Stone enviously from the side.
"When will my materials arrive?" Cang asked expressionlessly.
"Most of the materials have been collected. Currently, only three materials haven't been delivered yet, but information from the Anbu indicates that these materials will arrive today," Qiu said to Cang, glancing at his communicator.
"Cang, are you really not going to see Team Rocket's medical expert?" Qiu looked at Cang earnestly again.
"Cough cough, no need. I've already seen through life and death. You don't need to persuade me anymore," Cang said guiltily, his hands caressing three Poké Balls, reluctant to let them go.
The Pokémon inside these three Poké Balls made even Cang feel tempted.
"Frostwolf, how much longer will the trial last? Isn't it almost time?" Cang hinted.
"It's only been a month, but the number of participants has already significantly decreased," Instructor Frostwolf answered honestly.
"That's enough. If it gets any less, it won't meet Boss Sakaki's requirements. If possible, hold the final trial as soon as possible," Cang was very eager now, wanting to recruit Qingwu into his command.
"The number of people now is indeed not many," Instructor Frostwolf said, looking at the remaining participants.
According to the normal rules of the trial, two more months would be given for Pokémon growth, and then the final top three would be decided by Pokémon battles.
"If you give it two more months, only a few people will survive. Give the order directly. Call these trial participants back directly."
"Our original purpose was to cultivate them like gu worms, to teach them that ruthlessness is the only way to survive," Cang told Instructor Frostwolf.
"But I didn't expect them to be too ruthless. The number of people killed is almost over the limit," Instructor Frostwolf grumbled. This batch was full of ruthless individuals.
Instructor Frostwolf felt a surge of indignation at Cang's bossy behavior.
"I'll tell Boss Sakaki directly. I'll take responsibility if anything goes wrong. Besides, we're currently short of a lot of manpower. Don't lose any more people here," Cang decided directly.
Team Rocket Trial Base, Dormitory 133.
Qingwu walked directly to Dormitory 133. The door used a card-swiping system.
Qingwu directly pulled out the black card that Colonel handed him. With two beeps, the door opened.
Pushing open the door, it was a two-room, one-living-room apartment, with a toilet and a shower room.
There was also a 60-inch large TV in the living room. Qingwu opened the room and looked around.
Each room had a toilet and a large bathtub.
There was also a laptop in the room, and a two-meter by two-meter bed.
Qingwu walked into the room. It had been cleaned spotlessly by the staff.
After checking that no infrared cameras were installed in the entire room, Qingwu opened the laptop.
The laptop was empty, with only a Team Rocket icon.
Qingwu recognized this. It was Team Rocket's internal network specifically used for exchanging items.
As long as one had a Team Rocket grunt's account and password, one could easily log into Team Rocket's internal network.
The internal network was divided into three functional areas: Mission Release Area, Team Rocket Forum, and Exchange Area.
The Mission Release Area, as the name suggested, was where Team Rocket released missions and offered bounties in Team Rocket Points.
The first person to complete a mission would receive Team Rocket Points as a reward, giving it a bounty hunter feel.
The Team Rocket Forum was a section for all Team Rocket members to communicate. It included topics such as Pokémon training, Pokémon skill training, and wild survival experience explanations.
However, these specialized training posts usually cost between 1 and 100 Team Rocket Points, relying on browsing and subscription volume.
The Exchange Area was a large section, further divided into Pokémon Exchange Area, Pokémon Material Exchange Area, and Skill Disc Exchange Area.
The specific functions of each area will not be detailed here.
