The tense air in my mother's hospital room is nothing like what we have been experiencing in the past few days—or should I say years.
Her blood pressure, as the doctor keeps calling it, hasn't settled yet. It's all thanks to that one incident with the oxygen, although, Blackstone suggests it might have something to do with other factors like… shock.
I don't know what would shock my mother so much that she would get this sick. However, whatever it is, it's destroying whatever success we had over the years. I hate it. A lot.
"Is she going to be okay?" Grandma asks again, brows creased and pressed together into three tight lines that highlight her worry over her daughter. So much for being cold and selfish as she claims she is. I wasn't even surprised when she came rushing inside the room with her bonnet on because we both got urgent calls to come here early morning.
