We ended up leaving Beanie's with her still keeping the secret from me. The only reason I haven't lost it yet is because of her playfulness whenever I asked her to spill the beans, the secret didn't seem like it'd change my life like I thought it would so I let it pass; but I still can't stop myself from thinking about it no matter how insignificant.
How can I? She did reveal it's got something to do with Desmond and me after all.
The sound of the ambulance sirens blaring jolts me as I reach the hospital's reception, five of them drifting into the parking lot as ten or so nurses and doctors charge out from the glass doors. They sprint towards them at trained precision, dead serious expressions on each of their faces with some of the nurses even sweating and looking pale in the face.
I instinctively step out of their way, running to Merida's desk, who like the rest of the hospital's staff, is on her toes, attention on the doors.
