"You've got a strong backbone, keep it up lad," My grandma beams at Des, raising her manicured hands in the air. "Fine, I won't bring in the butlers, your loss. But who's going to do the cleaning and everything else? It can't be my granddaughter, I'm sure she's been doing that for a long time now, right dear?" She adds, pointedly looking in my direction.
Since I agreed to the wedding, my grandma has been the most supportive family member from my side. I'm yet to see what she's gaining from all this, but if I'm to take a guess then it'd be total control over me and a trustful heir to her legacy. Also, she gets to become real family with her long-time friend, a dream come true if that were to happen to Manon and me in the future.
God, I want to be her when I grow up, except for the control freak part.
