"Tell me, what are your conditions to agreeing to this marriage Desmond? I need to know what I'm getting into here and if need be, we should draft a contract to avoid unnecessary fights later on," I sigh, turning to look at him.

The moment our eyes lock, the air around us shifts into something I can't quite explain. Something that prickles at my chest as I stare into Desmonds honey brown eyes that are burning with an emotion as curious as the air masking us.

He places both his elbows on the table and leans closer to me, his eyes not leaving mine when he pushes the bag full of croissants aside—the crinkling paper providing a sound effect good enough to match whatever tension is rising between us. Soon, he's close enough that I can smell the pinewood scent coming from him and his eyes are now boring into mine, burning as if he's about to say something that'll change both our lives for good.

"I already told you my condition Leilani. But just in case you forgot, I'll repeat it again. Be my wife. Come to parties and dance with me. Sit and talk with me at night. Watch TV shows with me. Dine with me. That's all I need from this marriage, my one and only condition…you being with me."
