Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: Crossing Time and Space, Giving It Everything

Peter was still locked in combat with Kang the Conqueror, and he had discovered Kang's fatal flaw.

Kang couldn't fight.

Likely due to being a "Future Emperor" and possessing the invincible Time Gem, Kang's personal combat skills were nonexistent. He fought entirely with wild, untaught flailing—only by relying on the performance of his high-tech armor and the Time Gem could he hold his own against Peter.

Peter's assessment was simple: You fight worse than Tony Stark.

"You prepare to die, Spider-Man!" Kang, having accelerated his own speed, threw a wild, haymaker punch. "This 31st-century armor far exceeds your imagination. Your so-called superpowers are nothing against my high-performance battlesuit!"

"You don't even know how to use it, so what good are the specs!"

Narrowly dodging Kang's rapid punch with a backflip, Peter landed a kick to his face, directly short-circuiting his high-tech armor. Though the opponent quickly repaired his suit, he was immediately hit by another punch from Peter.

There was no helping it; Kang had to actively use the Time Gem, but every use required a brief moment of time, and in that instant, Peter would pummel him twice.

"Honestly, Kang, I still think all your shouting is because I broke your chair!" Peter punched again. Kang seemed to activate a form of bullet time for himself, dodging the attack in an incredibly contorted pose before accelerating into a punch. Peter, as usual, relied on his Spider-Sense to evade, then landed a sharp punch to Kang's jaw.

"But I really don't think painting a chair purple is a good idea!"

Kang the Conqueror's jaw was shattered. He used the Time Gem to restore himself instantly, looking at Spider-Man with disdain.

"Your failure is inevitable, Spider-Man. You will grow weary, you will tire out. But the great Kang the Conqueror will forever rely on the power of time to remain in his most perfect state. The moment you collapse from exhaustion is the moment Kang achieves victory."

Peter was too tired to even retort, not just from the fight, but from sheer exasperation.

"What a novel idea! A high-tech emperor from a thousand years in the future, wearing future gear, can't beat me and can only rely on constantly restoring his state, trying to wear me out."

Peter threw up his hands in resignation: "I don't know how a big villain can be as pathetic as you. Can you at least say something menacing?"

Just then, an anomalous energy signature appeared on Peter's eye lenses. A spatial rift tore open, and then he heard two incredibly exaggerated voices, filled with dramatic flair.

"Super Nova!"

"Legendary—!"

Everyone burst out of the torn spatial rift. Human Torch was in the lead, flying over and immediately hitting Kang with a flaming tornado. Next was Star-Lord, his rocket boots at maximum thrust, rushing in and unloading a torrent of fire onto Kang with his two element guns, which seemed to be on auto-lock. After being thoroughly disoriented by the bombardment, Kang was grabbed by Groot's extended arm and slammed onto the ground. He then endured a vicious onslaught from Rocket Raccoon. Mantis also joined the melee.

"You okay, Peter?"

Gwen steadied a staggering Peter. Peter merely nodded: "I'm fine... just tired. You try fighting a guy who never gets tired. No matter how much of a weakling he is, it's exhausting."

Cindy also came over. The two of them helped Peter sit down on the side. Peter watched as the entire Guardians of the Galaxy plus the Fantastic Four swarmed Kang, delivering a relentless beating. Then, he looked at Adam Warlock, who was standing on the side, taking a break, and asked the question most important to him.

"Wait, where are Thor, Mar-Vell, and Carol? Aren't they here?"

"We weren't familiar with Mar-Vell and Carol, so we couldn't confirm if waking them was safe, so I didn't," Adam Warlock used the downtime to apply some restorative energy to Peter. "As for Thor, he didn't even come in."

"Huh?"

"The Soul Gem brought everyone who could have been killed by Korvac's explosion into this Pocket Universe. But Thor was excluded because the explosion wouldn't have killed him."

Well, fine. What else could he say but pray that Thor wouldn't panic when he saw his entire team vanish?

Peter shrugged, watching the battle unfold. The plot had quickly shifted from Kang the Conqueror arrogantly trying to beat up a primitive man with his high-tech armor to Kang relying on that same armor to shamefully flee from the savage, violent primitives.

It proved he was just weak, only capable of causing mischief by leaning on the Time Gem.

"So, how did you guys get here?"

"Thanks to Korvac. Your Pocket Universe was exactly what he needed to complete his personality. He's nearly whole again and tore open a spatial rift for us. Now, all we have to do is defeat Kang the Conqueror, and we can leave this place."

Adam spoke while observing the fight. Kang, who was running around frantically, also spotted the spatial rift. Without hesitation, he simply jumped right in and ran away.

"Seriously? A future time traveler, with an Infinity Gem, is that much of a wuss?" Johnny was stunned. He turned back to the others: "What do you say, should we chase him and fight?"

"Does that even need to be asked? If we can't stop Kang the Conqueror, we can't safely allow Korvac to leave our world."

Reed said, leading the charge into the spatial rift. Peter looked at Gwen, his meaning clear.

Time to give the Venom Symbiote back.

"Now? Can't it wait a little, Peter?" Gwen looked at Peter, clasping her hands in a plea: "Please?"

"But... you can't even fight, Gwen."

"But it's still so dangerous right now."

Considering Gwen's safety, Peter still nodded, but he had no intention of letting her rush into the front lines. So, after confirming his stamina was mostly recovered, he also charged into the spatial rift with everyone else. As he passed through, he realized he wasn't in his own Pocket Universe anymore.

All the heroes appeared in a brand new world. It looked like a vast expanse of advanced facilities with technology the people of Earth had never seen.

"These are Kree writings," Gamora walked up to a console, confirming their location. "Kang the Conqueror came to Mar-Vell's Pocket Universe, or rather, Korvac opened the portal right here."
