Chapter 156 - Chapter 156: A Familiar Face

Under the watchful eye of the Avengers, a disarmed Deadpool happily went on his way, seemingly without any complaints. Peter looked at Deadpool with a bit of curiosity, then took off his Iron Spider suit and handed it to Tony Stark. With an entire Iron Man suit to collect data from, the geniuses would have enough to keep them busy for a long time.

"How long was I gone this time?"

"About five hours. Why?"

"No, nothing."

This time, Peter had been in another universe for about half a month, but only five hours had passed in the 616 universe. This seemed to imply that the flow of time was different in various universes, but something about it felt off. He thought for a moment, feeling incredibly exhausted, so he had Venom turn into his suit and said his goodbyes to the Avengers' scientists and Reed. "I'm a little tired, so I'm just going to… head home?"

"Oh, Peter." Reed, who was busy receiving data, seemed to realize Peter was about to leave. "Johnny said if you ever have time, you should stop by the Baxter Building. He wants to thank you."

"I'll remember that."

After watching Peter leave, Tony's attention returned to the data. "Let me see… hmm… Peter said the Avengers and other heroes in that universe were all wiped out. How did they do it? Zemo infiltrated the Thunderbolts?"

Wasn't Zemo dead?

It seemed he needed to send a report to the Captain and Nick Fury.

Meanwhile, as Peter was leaving, his spider-sense rang out. He looked toward a nearby rooftop, where Madame Web, Julia Carpenter, was standing and waiting for him. Peter quickly web-zipped over. He knew this "riddler" had something to tell him, and it was a good thing because he had a lot of questions for her, too.

"I'm glad the tremors in the Web of Destiny have settled."

Madame Web started with a riddle, completely ignoring Peter's current state of exhaustion. "Any tremors in the Web of Destiny must be avoided until the day of necessity arrives."

"Uh… what day of necessity?"

Peter had enough of the riddles and directly asked what he wanted to know. "What are the Web-Warriors? Are they gathering to fight Shathra?"

Madame Web was stunned for a moment and didn't know what to say. After a while, she asked, "Is there anything you don't know?"

"I don't know what I don't know!" Peter yelled, exasperated. "For example, the day of necessity you mentioned is something I completely don't know about!"

"The day of necessity is January 15, 2024. On that day, the Web of Destiny is destined to collapse. But whether it results in a new beginning or eternal silence depends on the efforts of the Spider-Totems."

Peter was silent for a long time, completely thrown off by the surprisingly precise information. He scratched his head and asked, "January 15, 2024, in our universe?"

"Of course, in this universe."

"So, even if we remove the remaining three months of this year, we still have a full year of '24. That means we have ten years before the Web of Destiny collapses—" Peter, who had been mentally drained by Anansi, finally breathed a sigh of relief. "We have plenty of time to solve this problem. Ten years!"

"I suggest you prepare early. You cannot rely on any of the Avengers for the end of the Web of Destiny. They cannot connect to it. You can only rely on the other Spider-Totems—even the ambitious Web of Life and Destiny." Madame Web explained the truth about the Web-Warriors. "When a Spider-Totem's perception can transcend a single universe, they will catch a glimpse of Shathra. Every Spider-Totem knows that Shathra is an unbeatable enemy."

"So, they chose to gather allies and create more super-Spider-Men whom they call the Web-Warriors, to increase their chances of victory against Shathra."

Peter scratched his head. "Okay, I get it. I'm going home to rest now. Is there anything else?"

"I came to answer some of your questions, nothing more."

He basically didn't solve any of his confusion, other than telling him that Shathra would break free in ten years. Peter waved goodbye and web-swung toward Queens.

Earth-51821, the Web-Warriors' headquarters.

Anansi, who was already pitch-black and now emitting black smoke from being electrocuted, returned to the Pantheon at the team's headquarters. As a price, one of the spiders split from Karn had died—these things were single-use.

"With one teleportation, our 'light beast' is almost at its limit."

The Black-Suit King Spider-Man (also known as the God of the Symbiotes) walked over and shook his head, looking at the giant spider in the large cocoon. "Next time, we'll have to find another universe with a Karn and catch a new one. How was the multi-universal lightning?"

"It was alright. I almost died, but luckily I didn't." Anansi smiled. "I'm not like that universe's Thor. I'm the God of Stories. As long as stories don't fade and people remember the name Anansi, I can live forever, even without followers."

The only condition is that he doesn't run into the Sorcerer Supreme or Shathra.

"It's also a good thing you didn't go. Otherwise, he could have severed all of your symbiotes' connections to you, and you would have been exiled from your own universe."

After Anansi said this, the Black-Suit King Spider-Man was silent for a while before letting out a hollow voice. "That might have been for the best."

Anansi didn't say anything else. As the most mentally stable of the Web-Warriors—not having his mind corrupted by a symbiote, the Phoenix Force, or the Spider-Virus—he had to think about what to do next. All in all, the Web-Warriors couldn't casually cross the multiverse, as that would weaken the Web of Destiny's endurance. But given the kid's personality, he wouldn't bring that hammer into his own universe.

So, the next time Peter Parker goes to other universes, his strength will be about the same as it was today, or maybe a little stronger.

"What about the safety of the Heir?"

"The reality barrier of the 616 universe is temporarily unbreakable from the outside. It's easy for them to get out, so there's no need to worry about them being invaded by other multiverses."

After Anansi finished speaking, he thought carefully again and finally decided what the group should do next.

"Find someone to bring back a few more Korns. Also, we need to speed up our actions. The 'Heir' will definitely choose to form his own Web-Warriors, or whatever he calls it. When that happens, the two teams with different ideologies will definitely fight each other."

"We have to hurry and expand our ranks to compete with them for members."
