Chapter 2 - First Day

As Moro left the house, Eternity handed him a lunchbox. She gave him crispy tortilla bowls for lunch and brought chocolate mousse for dessert. "It looks great." he said while reaching his hand out to pat her head. And when he did, she blushed slightly as her tail wagged. She, as well as Yuzu and Rui, disappeared. Meanwhile, he looked back to see Rada stretching. The dragon, the size of a twin-sized bed, walked right next to his master, awaiting his command.

Moro hopped on Rada's back, and the dragon rode his master to school. On the way, they saw so many humans working along side various kinds of kudos. Most were loyal lives, but a massive help in practical use things like gardening and cooking. Halfway to school, Moro came across one of his friends. She was a girl who had chocolate brown skin, dark brown hair, and golden eyes. She had a pretty face and a shapely figure. She had a blue V-neck shirt and a black skirt. She also had brown pantyhose, a golden necklace, a golden bracelet, golden chains hanging tight to her waist, black heels with blue butterflies on the tips, and a blue neck collar.

Rada stopped in front of her, and Moro looked down at her. "Milk, what are you doing up so early? You usually sleep in until the last minute, then somehow make it to school on time."

"My parents forced me up." she said with a groggy face. "Think you could give me a lift to school today? I don't have a ride kudo yet."

"Sure. Rada's got room for one more."

Milk jumped on Rada's back and held onto Moro's waist. While riding, Rada had his wings tucked in. "Why not just fly to school?" Milk asked.

"Because I heard there are while flying kudos in the area. And I prefer my head on my shoulders rather than in an oversized bird's throat."

Even without Rada's flight, they still arrived at school rather early. At the school gate, there were two people who stood waiting for Moro and Milk. First was a cheerful girl with shoulder-length blonde hair and bright blue eyes, accented by vibrant pink streaks in her bangs. She wore a dark winter school uniform with a blue ribbon at the collar, a short pleated skirt, and black tights. A pink scarf with snowflake designs and matching pink gloves. She also wore blue snowflake-shaped earrings. She jumped up onto Rada to give Milk a hug. "Oh, Milk, I'm so glad you made it!"

"Ah, Uvie, get off me. I was only sick for like a day."

"Great! I would have hated to lose such a cutie."

"You're too much."

Rada, annoyed so many people were on his back, flips over, squashing them all on the ground and knocking the wind out of all 3 of them. He then went to the side of the gate and curled up, going back to sleep.

Meanwhile, the second person standing at the gate walked over to them. It was a masked boy dressed in rugged, urban clothing. He had orange eyes and brunette hair. He wore a hooded jacket with a yellowish-brown tint, loose black cargo pants, and heavy brown-soled boots.

"Wow, what a creative entrance. Though I doubt the school will give you the day off for a dragon breaking your ribs."

"Ha ha, very funny. Just help me up, will you?" The boy helped pull the 3 of them up. "And besides, you're always taking sick days, Calvin. Usually for the most minor things too."

"Aye, a sick day is a free day in my book."

"Lazy and unmotivated, as usual."

The 4 friends walked into the school. Around were so many students paying and inspecting their kudo partners. There were so many different kinds, and it made sense. There were over 3,000 different kinds of known species of kudos in the world. Scientists even found some kudos in space and among other spatial and temporal dimensions. Yet, despite that, even kudos from the same races exhibited different personalities. Some, like Eternity, were even sapient.

Moro never got tired of walking through campus and seeing all the students get along with these weird creatures. It made him feel warm inside.

Later, the 4 arrived at the entrance ceremony. The principal, and short elderly woman, walked up and gave a long speech to the 700 students standing in front of her. Moro started to nod off, as it was boring him, though he was gently elbowed by Milk to wake up. Yuzu manifested on his lap and curled up against him to keep him company. Moro brushed her hair gently as she cooed softly.

Uvie looked over and her eyes lit her. She loved cute things, and that far from excluded Yuzu. Uvie asked to brush her fur, too. But before Moro could respond, the principal spoke louder. "Anyways, I know I don't have to tell you that no kudos are allowed during this ceremony. Anyone who summons their kudo will have detention." She stared directly at Moro, while being sly enough to where the other students wouldn't know she was calling him out. She was giving him a chance to put Yuzu away.

Yuzu looked up to her master. She knew she had done something wrong. Moro just petted her and despawned her. He knew she meant well, but her action nearly got him in trouble.

"Anyways" said the principal while fixing her glasses. "you all have your class schedules printed. Pick them up at the front office and head to class in 30 minutes."

Moro left with everyone else to pick up his paper. He had six classes. Physics, Algebra 2, World History, Foreign Language Studies, Kudo Training, and Kudo Combat. It was also a block schedule. Kudo had 3 classes a day, with 5 hours of school. You were always required to get 4 years of science, math, and history done, but you also needed 3 years of Kudo-based electives as well. He wasn't supposed to do two, but unfortunately, he overqualified and managed to skip all other courses in school. He accidentally tested out of the 7 different classes due to his freshman placement test scores.

He laughed as he saw his paper. "Well, looks like I'll just have to deal with it. Rada's going to hate me for this though. Lazy bum."
