Ed smiled. "I'm glad you did because I was about to kick their asses right off the elevator, and oh by the way, you don't have to worry about those two idiots. They can find a profession somewhere else and they will not get a recommendation from this hospital—they're fired by my orders." His expression grew more serious. "I hope to see you more often here. In fact, talk to Dr. Wooten and get your rotation to the ranch as soon as possible after the baby is well enough to travel, because he's going to have some lingering health problems that you're going to need to be present to take care of. And don't worry, you will have an assistant there at the ranch that will be with you every step of your rounds."
Matt thanked Ed and Carter for their kindness and excused himself to go back and check on the boy.
