The next morning Antonio woke up early and had what the dormitory considered coffee—it was brown sludge with some sweetener and a little bit of cream. As he was choking it down, Carmen walked up beside him and placed his hand on his shoulder.
"So, you going to stand there and drink that mess? Really, don't tell me you don't want to go out and walk around and investigate a little bit. It is Saturday after all, and no one's working, so everyone's going to be out and about."
Antonio thanked his friend, handed him the rank cup of coffee, and started to walk off when he felt a sudden buzz in his body. The further he walked, the more intense it got. He stopped and turned around. "You know what's happening right now? I can't move because my whole body is tingling, and you're standing there grinning."
