Chapter 3 - Dungeon Diving

*Felix Fellon*

*Location: Grand Line, Near Water 7*

*Date: June 21, 1519*

Once that was all done, I needed to start planning my next move, more specifically, how I could get food and fresh water. Since I didn't see a shop setting in the system, I assume that was not an option. The good news was that I had an inventory I had spotted earlier that was completely empty. Anyway, the good news was that I had a fishing rod alongside plenty of insects for use as bait, that and a...semi-functional kitchen.

Meaning that with some basic preparation, I could probably cook some good grub, but the more problematic one is the water situation. I had no fresh water, and right now I was surrounded by the sea, aka salt water. I mean, there were probably ways to get the actual salt out of it, but then you'd have to deal with bacteria and other stuff like that, I'm guessing, so learning how to purify it would be a pretty good idea.

I mean, it was possible they probably had some tools to do that very job, heck, they probably had more advanced stuff since most of the world was covered in water, then you have geniuses like Vegapunk walking around, so someone must've mass-produced something like that at one point. Oh, well, that was probably wishful thinking, and I would need to figure it out at some point.

There was a small part of me that was really hoping tat they had some water stored on ths damn ship. I mean, unless they went crazy drinking sea water, but they couldn't be that desperate...right, oh please god don't tell me I'm on a floating grave. I mean theirs no way pirates would be dumb enough not to pack some extra water or have some way of getting more right!

I feel like I'm going in circles right now, and panicking really isn't helping me, I mean theirs no way a place that specializes in reincarnation wouldn't put someone in a death trap right...RIGHT!

[Dungeon Found, Skeletal Dungeon (Beginner)]

[Would Host like to enter Y/N?]

[Warning: Once Host enters, you will ot be able to exit until the Dungeon boss is slain]

Welp, seeing that also gave me something to do, and it also probably meant the system would provide food and water whilst I was in there, one way or another, right? I mean, it makes sense when you think about if other people were given this power, they had to have some way to survive long expeditions into dungeons, otherwise they'd starve to death inside one of them.

Anyway, the only way to know for sure was to click yes, which I did, and soon enough, I saw the same black hole that dropped me into this world appear right underneath me. I blinked a couple of times before my body fell right through, and I began screaming as I started falling right through the thing toward wherever the dungeon was.

Eventually I landed right on my butt inside a large spooky dungeon, quite literally too the whole palce had chains and different types of bones scattered around the place.

[Dungeon: Skeletal Dungeon: The resentment of long-dead pirates has seeped into this place, bringing the skeletons to life with some weaker than bugs, others as strong as marine captains]

[Host must descend the six levels to fully complete the dungeon and defeat the boss, who is the strongest being in the dungeon]

Alright, simple explanation, and now I wait for a weapon or something to fight with so I can begin grinding till my legs give out. Yep, any minute now gonna get a sword or something to fight these undead things with and get way stronger than before. It was right after the second minute mark that I realized I was not getting a weapon and would have to improvise. So I did what anyone with a basic understanding of martial arts (thank you system) but no actual training would do in this situation.

I picked up a big rock, and well, I was nowhere near strong enough to rip them out of the walls, not right now anyway. Right now, though, I should find those weak skeletons and start grinding them, see how much XP I need to level up, alongside what stat points I would get when I do.

Wandering through the dungeon walls, I couldn't shake the icky feelings I had swarming all over me. It felt like I was a corpse with flies swarming all over me, eating and laying eggs on my body. Which was ironic considering I was right in the middle of what was essentially a skeletal infestation. That's when I spotted my first enemy, at the end of the hallway was a cracked skeleton that was missing its left arm, and holdign a rusty old sword in its right arm.

That's when I began using my Observation skill, trying to see what information I could glean from the enemy.

[Old Skeleton Lv. 1]

[HP: 15 MP: 5]

[An old skeleton that can barely wield a sword wandering the dungeon forevermore]

While its HP was lower than mine by a large degree, alongside its own fragile body, the real problem was that sword. If I didn't hit it just right, well, it could nick me pretty good, not that I was more dexterous than I looked. So as the Old Skeleton wandered closer toward me, not spotting me yet, I reeled back my fist and threw the rock as hard as I could, getting one good surprise attack in before I went for hand-to-hand.

As the rock sailed through the air, it landed dead center on his face, knocking him, forcing them to stumble back into a wall.

[HP: 15 - 6 = 9]

Honestly, I was a bit surprised seeing them take so much damage from a rock, but I guess that must've been from the blunt force alongside my increased strength. I then picked up more rocks and threw two more at them, letting my strength do the grunt work and the distance be my shield.

[HP: 9 - 6 = 3]

[HP: 3 - 6 = -3]

Once that second hit, the skeleton crumbled to the ground, nothing more than a pile of bones, dropping the rusty sword and giving me a new weapon. Going over to the pile, I made sure to pay attention to my surroundings and picked up the thing using my observation skills to see if the thing had anything special about it.

[Item: Rusty Old Sword]

[Fragile, 4 Basic Attack]

[Description: A Rusty old sword wielded by a skeleton that was nothing but fragile bones now]

I mean, sure, it wasn't the best, but since nothing else dropped, this was the best I could use for now. I also saw the XP notification finally come up, and well, it wasn't a whole lot.

[XP: 0/100 + 15 = 15/100]

Which meant I had a whole lot of gridning to do before I level up.
