“Show me your employee identification card. Now,” Kyle demanded. When the man in front of him remained silent, he continued, “Unless, of course, you do not have one. You are not a Laurent Railway employee, are you?”
The operator turned pale, his hands beginning to shake.
“Step aside and comply quietly. If you resist, you will end up like your partners.” Kyle retrieved a pair of handcuffs from his uniform, cuffing the operator while keeping his gun pointed firmly at the man’s head. Then, he suddenly struck the other man on the back of the head with the bottom of his gun, knocking him out cold. Pushing the body out of the way, Kyle went to examine the mechanical panel in front of the compartment.
