Kyle moved toward the hotel without hesitation, only to stop dead in his tracks a moment later at the sensation of something invisible wavering in the air in front of him. Cautiously, he extended a hand toward the thick barrier. His fingers pushed through the viscous substance slowly before meeting air on the opposite side. Immediately, a series of terrified screams rang in his ears as they filtered through the hole his hand formed in the barrier.
“Run away!”
“What’s happening? Where am I?”
“Fire!”
Kyle tensed as he realized the barrier must be masking a deeper, more nefarious mystery on the other side. His blood ran cold at the thought of Noa somewhere inside, caught in the midst of the cacophony of terrified voices.
“Come here, Miu,” Kyle commanded, stepping back from the barrier.
