If there were processed magic factories beyond the lake, it would make sense that mana had become mixed into the wastewater. More importantly, there was the chance that Adrian’s cloning research was taking place in one of those very factories.
“Is it possible that we accidentally found the factory we were looking for?” I mumbled incredulously. Taking stock of my options, I had to decide whether to move forward into an area that was likely part of Adrian’s domain or to retreat to the slum-filled village. I moved away from the lake to give myself a break from the intense stench clogging the air.
