“When will you learn to eat enough so that I do not have to worry about you anymore?” Kyle scolded gently. “I have lost hope that you will feed yourself, but to continue resisting even when food is offered to you—it is frustrating, to say the least.”
“Don’t you think you’re giving me too much food?” I retorted.
“You are always so lethargic because you eat so little. Have you forgotten being diagnosed with malnutrition back in Sorent?” Kyle nagged. His behavior was almost too normal, and to an untrained eye, it appeared as though last night’s events had never happened. There was something in the air, however, that had shifted.
A sharp inhale left me as Kyle’s hand grazed over mine when he returned my spoon to my grasp. Although we had held hands before, his touch now burned with a newfound intensity as his hand lingered over mine. His violet eyes darkened as he gazed at me through half-lidded eyes.
