Chapter 73 - Chapter 72

General Yves traveled with only about a hundred men.

Before he left, he gave Sophia a list of everything he needed.

Since they reconnected, he had been worried about the situation in the capital.

Food came first. Then came the crops for next year. For that, he needed Sophia to send farming tools and seeds.

He wrote down everything he could think of. The rest would have to wait until he arrived in the capital and could see the situation for himself.

He rode in a water truck. This time, ten water trucks came with him. Once he got to the capital, they wouldn't need to worry about water anymore. Sophia could send it directly. But water for the other places still had to be delivered by the trucks.

The water trucks moved fast. They had traveled this road many times. The trucks were so heavy that they had already flattened the road.

This was General Yves's first time riding in one of these trucks.

Late at night, when they stopped to rest, he wrote a letter to Sophia.

He looked calm on the outside, but his feelings came out in the letter.

"This is my first time riding in a big vehicle like this. It feels amazing. It's much more comfortable than a horse cart. Is your world full of things like this? If you can, could you send me some videos?"

Then he thought about a dream he had before and added, "This kind of big vehicle must have a special use. Are there any vehicles just for travel?"

Sophia got the letter and was busy arranging food and supplies.

One truck after another arrived.

"Sophia, the potatoes are here."

There were too many items to handle alone. Sophia and Ronin worked together.

Since General Yves gave them notice in advance, Sophia ordered two hundred thousand jin of potatoes at once.

Compared to rice, potatoes were much cheaper. Plus, the amount needed was huge. She got them at a price of 0.8 yuan per jin.

"Put them in the first-floor warehouse."

After what happened before with the warehouse in the town, Sophia designed her new warehouse with four doors and two loading areas.

At that moment, five large trucks were arriving one by one.

Ronin brought the first truck to the A-side unloading area. After handing it over to Sophia, he went to bring the second truck to the B-side.

He ran back and forth quickly, breathing hard.

While they unloaded those trucks, the other three also arrived.

They got a phone call and were told to wait outside for now.

Ronin and Sophia finally finished unloading everything. It was already late at night. Sophia paid everything on the spot and sent the final payment.

"Sophia, Ronin, I'm heading off now. Thanks for your hard work."

It was the same young man Ronin met last time while buying potatoes. Now, all their potatoes came from his family.

His family didn't have that many, but many people in his area grew potatoes. He helped collect them and earned a small fee.

After paying him, Sophia also transferred 40,000 yuan to Ronin.

"Oh, Ronin, I also sent you last month's salary."

Sophia always paid him on the fifth of every month.

Things were very busy lately. This time she gave him an extra 10,000 yuan.

She didn't say anything about it, but she was already thinking about sending him on a free trip once things calmed down.

Ronin looked at his phone and saw the money had arrived in his account. Right away, all the tiredness on his face disappeared.

"Sophia, why did you send me an extra 10,000?"

He was really happy, but still asked the question politely.

Sophia smiled. "You've worked hard lately. It's getting late. Go home and rest."

Ronin chuckled, said goodbye, and happily ran off.

Sophia started cleaning up and turning off the lights. Then she noticed a letter placed in the pig trough.

She piled some sacks and baskets over the trough to hide it, took the letter, and went back home.

Before reaching the house, she turned on all the lights with one button and started filling the bathtub with water.

She picked out some clothes, then sat in the bathtub to soak and relax. Only then did she slowly open and read the letter.

There was a screen on the wall playing a variety show in the background.

Sophia looked at what General Yves wrote. "A car?"

She touched her chin and thought for a moment.

A car was like a horse carriage in the old days, but with the bumpy roads from back then, normal cars probably wouldn't survive.

After thinking a bit, Sophia removed the tablet from the wall. If Yves wanted a car, of course she should prepare one for him.

She started searching for SUV models. Jeep Wrangler, Lexus, Ford, Mercedes, Land Rover.

She looked through them, but she didn't really understand cars. She could see the prices, but wasn't sure which ones were suitable.

So she made a post on her social media. "Hey girls, can anyone recommend a good SUV? Price should be more than ten million, but less than one hundred million."

After posting, she put down her phone and continued enjoying her bath.

Half an hour later, she came out of the bathroom and sat at her dressing table. As she did her skincare, she checked her phone.

Her post already had more than ten comments.

The recommendations were mostly three types, all new SUV models released this year.

They all cost more than ten million. The first one was black and looked a lot like the Batmobile. Its appearance was cool and had a strong tech vibe. For someone like Sophia, who didn't know much about cars, the features were really attractive. It had luxury seats, a gaming control panel, a wide screen that could extend out, a fridge, a Nespresso coffee machine, a table that popped out with a button, and nice lighting.

Even the model name had the word KING in it.

That really matched General Yves's status.

Sophia had never seen General Yves in person, but in her imagination, he must be a cool and handsome general.

She really wanted to see him.

The second one had a classic SUV look. The body was yellow, and it was a well-known brand, Land Rover.

The third one looked like a tank. It had a heavy look and came with bulletproof and explosion-proof tires. To be honest, if she was thinking about safety, this one was the best choice.

But in ancient times, was such a high level of safety really necessary? Probably not. It's not like people were using bombs.

Sophia thought for a bit and then contacted Haiwen. Haiwen had recommended the first model.

When Sophia messaged her, Haiwen was surprised. "You really want to buy it? I thought you were joking. But even if you want it, it's not easy to buy. This one is a limited edition. Only ten of them exist in the world."

Sophia thought for a moment and replied, "I can offer between thirty to fifty million."

Haiwen was shocked. Even she wouldn't dare buy such an expensive car without serious thought.

She said, "This car is more suitable for professionals who know how to drive off-road. It's not easy for most people."

Sophia paused before replying, "I'm not buying it for myself. It's a gift."

Since that was the case, Haiwen didn't say more. "I'll help you ask around. No promises though."

"Thanks a lot"

Sophia sent her a heart emoji.
