Chapter 36 - Chapter 36

Looking at the black vest that looked like a girl's underwear, once worn, it revealed the arms, neck, and collarbone.

None of the generals were willing to try it.

Finally, the youngest and least experienced soldier stepped forward.

General Yves said, "Just put it on over your clothes. This thing is called a stab-proof vest. It's said to withstand knives and spears and can protect your life in critical moments."

Once they heard this, the soldiers' eyes lit up.

"I'll try it!"

General Ulric was the first to step forward. Carrying a big knife, he swung it fiercely at the young officer.

The young officer got scared and ran away.

Everyone in the camp knew General Ulric wasn't just big, he was truly brave. He weighed 180 pounds and swung the big knife with great force.

Even if he couldn't cut through, he could still knock someone down badly.

If the young officer didn't run, he might be bedridden for a month.

After a while, the two finally seriously started testing.

These stab-proof vests were mainly for tens of thousands of ordinary soldiers. For experts like General Yves and General Ulric, the vest offered only slight protection.

But in battle, many soldiers died because they were stabbed in the chest or abdomen.

If these vests were widely used, casualties would reduce a lot, and the winning rate could improve by at least 30%.

Soon, they called a regular soldier.

The soldier held a knife and stood about three meters in front of his general, his hands trembling.

The general told him to attack.

The soldier looked scared. So many generals were watching, making him nervous.

The young officer scolded him, "How can you go to battle like this?"

This coward, in front of so many generals, made them think his soldiers were cowards too.

He almost wanted to kick him. Wasn't this embarrassing?

Angrily, the young officer picked up a sword and attacked the soldier.

The soldier finally fought back out of instinct.

The young officer dodged, letting the knife land on his stab-proof vest.

Being a general who served under General Yves, he had some skill. He stood firm and didn't move back at all. He only felt a slight pain from the impact on his chest.

Compared to the bloody wounds seen on the battlefield, this was nothing.

Everyone except the soldier had eyes burning with excitement.

General Yves also stepped forward.

A group of people surrounded the young officer, touching the stab-proof vest. It only had a small tear but was not broken.

They quickly took the vest off the young officer and lifted his clothes.

"Let me see! Let me see! Is it really okay?"

General Ulric and the others held down the young officer's feet and arms while someone lifted his clothes.

This made the young officer furious and blush with anger. These rough men were too much!

General Yves pushed forward, and those pulling the clothes stepped back.

Indeed, the young officer's fair and strong chest had only a slight redness with no clear wounds.

Seeing this, everyone quickly let go of the young officer and looked at General Yves with excitement.

"Commander! How many more of these stab-proof vests do we have? How many will the Yellow Tiger Army get?"

After understanding the vest's function, someone immediately asked General Yves to allocate some.

"Get lost! Why should the Yellow Tiger Army get them first? If there are any, the Red Wolf Army gets them first!"

Everyone argued loudly.

Left alone, the young officer angrily fixed his clothes and tidied himself.

"Commander! Our troops have suffered many losses. Don't forget about us!"

The young officer said quietly.

General Yves glanced at him. The young officer stiffened and quickly hid his expression, returning to a serious face.

A group of people argued loudly until General Yves raised his voice: "Quiet!"

General Yves didn't say whether to give it or not, or how much to give. He just said, "Continue testing!"

Everyone fell silent and went back to the pile of items.

The ones already tested were set aside. What was left were two things about the length of a small forearm, one black and one silver-white.

They felt a bit heavy when picked up.

Sophia had already handed over the instruction manual.

"It says this thing is called a flashlight," Assistant Hanra said as she fiddled with it.

After the earlier armor test, everyone stopped being careless and focused closely on what Assistant Hanra was doing.

Hanra pushed up a small red square button, and a strong light shot out.

The beam was straight like an arrow, which startled everyone so much they almost fell over trying to dodge it.

When they looked closely, they saw it wasn't harmful and calmed down.

Everyone cleared their throats, quietly checking if others noticed their awkward reaction.

Hanra pushed the red square back, and the light disappeared.

Then she pressed and held a round red button. The light came on when pressed and went off when released.

This time no one jumped, but they were still amazed.

"Amazing!"

"No wonder it's a gift from the Supreme God!"

Everyone knew these strange items were gifts from the Supreme God, and their respect grew even more.

Some playful ones kept turning the flashlight on and off, but since it was daytime, the light wasn't very bright.

Next, Assistant Hanra picked up a black stick.

People stood close, and no one noticed when she pressed the stick against someone.

Hanra accidentally pressed the switch, and suddenly a current passed through the many officers standing shoulder to shoulder.

At once, everyone lost their ability to move.

Seeing this, both Hanra and General Yves' pupils shrank.

Hanra quickly fumbled to turn off the switch.

She then threw the black stick on the ground.

Nervously, she started explaining to General Yves, "Commander! This... this thing..."

General Yves raised his hand to stop her explanation, "Study this well."

After a while, General Ulric and the others grimaced and slowly got up.

It felt like their bodies had been controlled and completely numb.

"Commander, should we keep testing this stick?"

General Yves replied calmly, "Not for now."

On the table was still a round white bottle.

When picked up and shaken, there was water inside.

The bottle had a label with an eye and a cross.

Everyone kept their distance and didn't dare come close.

Hanra carefully held it, not daring to press anything randomly.

After some time, she finally opened the cap and found a small round hole on top.

She guessed the hole was the water outlet but couldn't pour it out.

Accidentally pressing somewhere, mist sprayed out.

Luckily, it wasn't aimed at her, but Hanra still felt the sting, though not severe.
