Luckily I watched a lot of movies and read a lot of novels in the past. I immediately made my bed to look as if there was a person sleeping in it. Next I used the blanket to cover up the pillows that was supposed to be me in dreamland. I then went under the table and unsummoned Sia. It's best to use her as a surprise.
Not too long after I heard the door creaking open, very slowly. No sound was made. I was glad I asked Sia to guard me otherwise I wouldn't know how I died. Shortly after I saw the intruder. He was dressed in black, covered from head to toe like a ninja except for his eyes. i could tell immediately that is was an assasin sent to kill me .He made no sounds at all as he silently walked to my bed. He then took out a dagger and swiftly plunged it into the innocent pillow. At this exact moment, I rushed out from under the bed whilst his dagger was still in the pillow. I used all my strength to punch him at the back of his head. Just as I thought I succeeded, he vanished from my sight only to appear back at the door. He looked at me surprised and then said,
"Who would have guessed that an ant at the mere Dust Warrior stage could sense me coming and even try to ambush me.Very good but too bad you failed."
I could tell from a glance that he was stronger than me. At the very least he was at the Copper Warrior stage like Sia.
"Who are you and why are you trying to kill me?" I asked feeling completely rattled at this near death experience.
The intruder snorted and said," You don't need to know that, just know that there are some people whom you cannot afford to offend and since you did, the price to pay is with your life."
I did not want to summon Sia immediately as I wanted to use her as an ambush. I will need this intruder to die as I could not let out that Sia is my trump card.If that happened, and he escaped, next time he will be prepared for Sia and my chances of surviving will be drastically reduced.I tried to get more information from him and at the same time act as if I had no way out. I was hoping to get him to lower his guard so I could strike at the most opportune time.
I said,"There is no way I can beat you. Look, I have some money. Can I give it to you to spare my life." I sounded as if I was begging.
The assasin laughed and said,"Everyone knows that when the Black Widow organization accepts a mission, we always successful complete it.This is our motto and why people are willing to pay large amounts of money to us. We get things done! It will be no good to my reputation and my organization's if I take your money and let you live. Besides, when you are dead, all that you have will naturally be mine as well."
I at least managed to get more information out of him. He said mission. Does this mean if I survive this, others will come to complete the mission. Definitely! I was pissed. All I wanted to do was keep a low profile and slowly build up my strength.
I looked at the assasin and said, Now that I have no way out, may I also request to commission a mission before I die?"
"Interesting" he said. "Go on, tell me more details.
I said,"I have about 35 Gold coins on me. I want you to kill Crazy Li."
This time I could see the shock and surprise on his face. "But why, aren't you close with the Li family? I thought you would ask me to kill Su Jin."
Bingo I thought, so it's really young master Su Jin who is responsible for commissioning this assassination attempt. To get his guard down I explained, "well, he did promise me to protect me. Yet here you are and here I am, about to die. Don't you think I should not be angry with Crazy Li?

I suddenly shouted, "Uncle Li, thank goodness you are here. Please save me."
The assasin jumped out of fright. He hurriedly began to look in every direction and when he realized that there was no one, he glared at me.
Angrily he said," Initially, since you gave up resisting, I had wanted to make your death painless but now it seems like I must take my time. I am going to capture you first, then tie you up. Then I will slowly skin you alive bit by bit. And when all your skin is gone and you begging me to kill you, I will then cut of pieces of flesh from you and feed it to you. It will take a few days but I am going to enjoy this process. The screams people make during the skinning process is like the most melodious music. Knowing that they are eating their own flesh and the despair that comes from the eyes, oh what a beautiful sight."
I could not help get disgusted upon hearing his vile means of torture. This man is not only a murderer, he is also a lunatic and a sadist. He truly enjoys his line of work. Who knows how many others have been toutured and killed by him. I am no hero wanting to avenge others whom I don't even know. I just want to survive this ordeal.
Just then I shouted again, "Uncle Bai, thank goodness, saveee me." My cry sounded so real that the assasin jumped again and look at every direction warily. Seeing no one, he seethed angrily and said, "boy, what ever that is going to happen to you next,you can only blame yourself."
I looked behind him and shouted," Uncle Li, save me!".
This time he only glanced behind him. Seeing no one he snorted.
I shouted again, "Uncle Bai, save me".
This time he did not bother looking anywhere. This is it. The time is now.
I looked behind him and said, " Sia, kill him!"
He did not turn around. This is exactly what I wanted from the beginning. From my direction, I could see Sia manifesting. Then with a leap, she pounced at the intruder, As he was totally unprepared for this, he had no guard or defense up. Sia's huge jaws clamped around the assasin's neck. I could now see fear in his eyes and before he could say anything. a lound crunch sounded, and his neck separated from his body. Blood sprayed out like a fountain.
I fell to the floor butt first. Inwardly feeling extremely relieved. If based on my strength alone, there was no way I could have defeated him. He had about the same strength as Sia. So if I had summoned Sia earlier without the element of surprise, who knows how the fight between Sia and the intruder would have gone. If he managed to kill Sia. Then I would not have stood a chance against him. I got really lucky this time. I silently said a thank you to all the movies and books that I read in the past which gave me the idea to use this trick.
Still not moving, I replayed the entire scene in my head again. I have a water element, but currently I have no defense or attack skills to use it with. Currently I can only use it for healing. This needs to change. I need to find get some attacking and defending skills for my water element. I then remembered I could get another beast. Today I used a sneak attack coupled with tricks. But this got me thinking that perhaps I should get a beast that specializes in sneak attacks as well. I also definitely need to work hard on my levels and get to Copper Warrior stage as soon as I can. Maybe then, I will get more surprises from the cards and brush. I want to get stronger. No, I must get stronger. Fuck the Li family, although I can't really blame them, I realized that subconsciously I left my protection to them. I need to depend on myself and not anyone else. Also there is Young Master Su Jin. He actually contracted a mission to get me killed. He needs to pay for this but I need to do this cleverly so as not to be traced back to me. The me now still can't go against the entire Su family. I also need to be careful of similar assassins too. Damn!
Looking at the headless body of the assasin. I thought to myself, I need to make the body disappear and act as if nothing happened to me at all. This would lead Young Master Su Jin and the assasin organization he hired to think that the assasin still has yet to act. Based on my previous knowledge, contract killing like these usually had a time line. Some as little as one month, some as long as six months. I can only hope I can get enough time to grow stronger. I told myself that I also needed to set traps for the inevitable coming of these assassin's in the future.
I looked at Sia and asked, "Sia, can you eat him?" Sia gave a light bark and jumped at the body. I didn't want to see the horrible sight so I left the hut and went to take a bath.
After my bath, I saw Sia waiting for me. Beside her paws I could see a pouch. Must be the bag that belonged to the assasin I thought. I opened up the pouch and there were four items in it.
