Ficool

Chapter 3 - The Selected Occult.

The word occult isn't just ancient to the medleys of the FirstWorld, it also contains power beyond one's imagination, a cheat that could get one out of countless stuck situation.

But unfortunately, the word occult is, but just a word to the current generation of the medleys.

None of them even know the importance of it, leave alone ever seeing them at first hand.

Only the first generation of medleys understands, and have experienced the importance of an occult at the first hand, but with the current stained bloodlines of the Medleys', none of them could ever posses an occult.

An occult is a soul based weapon, only that an occult must be contracted for the user to receive it's maximu potential.

They do not just help the user to channel their fe at an easy pace, they also amplify the skill being performed, making it even more powerful as the skill's full potential are unleashed.

Secondly, an occult, based on the type of occult contracted, can be used as a weapon with an ultimate durability.

Imagine having an sword or even a spear as your occult, you can use them to fight for as long as you wish without worrying of them being worn out.

Unlike other beast weapons, an occult, once destroyed, would puff out and return back to the user's soul, which could then be summoned almost instantly, that's if the user still has some fc left in them.

Let's not forget that an occult also acts as a buff, granting the user a boost in both agility, stamina and strength, and the last and the most important function of an occults is a special skill they come with known as the flair.

Flairs are powerful and special in their on way. It could almost make one look as if they have a second fe. A fe that might not even match or interfere with the user's original Fe.

Like let's say, a medley who has fire attributes as their Fe contracts an occult with water attributes, the user can still channel a water based skill without interfering with his original fe.

The only limitations of an occult is that it really takes a lot of fc to channel a flair, and also it can only be used by a single user; the only one who has contracted them.

Secondly, and the most stressing part of it all is that those of stained bloodline could never contract an occult.

Like let's say, if a medley from the water tribe marries a medley from the fire tribe, the offspring bloodline would be corrupted and hence never to contract an occult, that's why it's way too rare to come across a medley who has contracted an occult as it's just too difficult to find a pure bloodline of medley.

That's why Agra couldn't believe it. Him standing in the middle of all the occults of all shapes and sizes, and he could pick whatever his heart desires, only that he can take one of them.

But still, if an occult is as strong as how the texts described them, then just one is enough.

His excitement led him to rush over to wall and pick a black sword on his hand, and as he did, a screen quickly came displaying.

[A sword has been selected]

[To contract the sword, please drop your blood on it]

The sword was light and perfect, and it seemed like it was just meant for him, but as Agra made some quick slashes in the air, he quickly realized how swordsmanship was never meant for him.

It was quite a relief to know that he couldn't contract them just by touching them, as that could have been a total wast of chance.

"I still wish I could know its flair though." Agra spoke in disappointment while placing the sword back, and as if listing to this, another screen came displaying.

[A new system skill has been triggered]

[Congratulations! You have been granted a spy skill level 1.]

{Spy: once activated, the user would be informed of the basic information of entities and objects}

{Skill cost: Null}

{Cool down period: Null}

"Now you are speaking my language." Agra muttered with excitement as he read the words displaying in his eyes.

The skill was quite handy , especially in the situation that he was right now. And the good thing about this skill is that Agra could utilize it for ultimate number of time with zero cost.

He didn't wast time as he looked at the sword before saying

"Spy!"

[The Veilrend Blade.]

[Type: sword]

[Category: occult]

[Rank: Ordinary]

[Flair: Phantom Cleave >> When activated, the wielder can unleash a spectral slash capable of phasing through solid defenses and striking directly at the target's soul. It's highly effective against king-ranked armor and below, this strike bypasses conventional durability, delivering wounds that linger beyond the physical realm.]

{Flair cost: 35 fc}

For a moment, after reading the flairs description, Agra was tempted to contract the sword as his occult, but noticing just how a wast this could be, he decided to move on to the next occult.

"Spy!

[The Nightfang Daggers.]

[Type: twin daggers]

[Category: occult]

[Rank: Epic]

[Flair: Shadow Fang >> When activated, the wielder's strikes become intangible for a split second, allowing the blades to bypass physical defenses and sink directly into flesh. Each wound inflicted lingers like a venomous curse, draining the target's life force slowly.]

{Flair cost: 30 fc per dagger}

Well, this certainly caught Agra's attention for a moment. He took the twin daggers on his hands and started swinging them around, but then, just like the sword, Agra felt like this wasn't just for him.

"Spy!"

[The Stormpiercer Spear.]

[Type: spear]

[Category: occult]

[Rank: Rare]

[Flair: Thunder Surge >> When activated, the spear crackles with volatile energy, delivering piercing strikes charged with lightning. The impact not only shreds armor but temporarily paralyzes foes upon contact, disrupting their movements and senses.]

{Flair cost: 40 fc}

From the length of the spear, Agra absolutely knew that this would never be his. It's not just his style of fighting as he prefers close combat rather than a distance one.

He went along and tried all sort of weapons around, but nothing seemed to be meeting his desires. The only weapon that he has not tried yet was a pair of gauntlets thrown on the floor like some kind of a trash.

And with disappointment, Agra walked over and stood some distance away before saying.

"Spy." In a weak voice depleted of hope.

[The Revenant's Grasp.]

[Type: Gauntlets]

[Category: occult]

[Rank: Mythical]

[Level:1}

Just reading the Gauntlets description was enough to spackle Agra's hope back.

From what he had been doing, he figured that occults are ranked into four ranks;

[Ordinary]

[Rare]

[Epic]

[Legendary]

Ordinary rank was the weakest while Legendary leading in strength, but never had he come across a mythic ranked occult, leave alone those that had a level.

It almost sounded like this occult could somehow level up, that made Agra wanting to learn more about this pair of gauntlets.

[Flair: Soul Rend >> When activated, each successful 5 strikes would steals a fraction of the opponent's essence, weakening their physical and spiritual form with every hit. The stolen energy fuels the wielder, amplifying their speed and reflexes temporarily for five seconds.]

{Flair cost: 6 fc}

[Ultimate flair: Devourer's Ruin.]

When triggered, the gauntlets forcefully siphon the very existence of a target, stripping away their fe and converting them into a "Devourer Skill." These stolen powers become distorted versions of their former selves, cursed with unpredictable effects. The wielder's body mutates slightly with each absorption, adapting to the twisted might of those they've consumed. ]

{Ultimate Flair cost: 40 fc}

This was the first occult that had a double flair, and Agra would be a fool not to contract it, especially with the flairs it came with.

After biting his his thumb and dropping his blood on them, they disintegrated and phase through his body as another screen displayed.

[An occult had been contracted]

[The user can now summon their occult freely.]

[Summoning cost: 5 fc]

He looked around, wishing he could have contracted all of them as they all had cool flairs, but unfortunately, he could only have one.

With nothing else to do, Agra finally walked towards the door to get out of here, and the moment his hand made contact with the brown door, he was sucked in again, and this time he found himself in a place he would rather not be.

[Welcome to the Dungeon]

[Amateur Dungeon ]

[To exit the Dungeon, the user must defeat the Dungeon boss and obtain a teleportation stone.]

The system displayed in front of his eyes.
