Later that evening, after a light dinner and a quick change of clothes, Asia and I stood in front of the magic circle in the clubroom.
"This will transport you to the location of your client," Akeno explained, holding her clipboard with practiced grace. "Remember, Devils grant wishes in exchange for payment—though it doesn't always mean money. Sometimes it's favors, items of value, or even just emotional satisfaction."
Asia nodded with sparkling eyes. "It's like being a magical helper!"
I chuckled nervously. "Yeah, something like that."
Rias placed her hand on Asia's shoulder. "Just follow Issei's lead, and you'll do fine. Remember, this is a learning experience. You don't need to be perfect."
Asia nodded firmly. "Yes, Buchou!"
The circle lit up with a soft red glow. Asia and I stepped inside together, and in the next moment, the world around us warped with a flash of crimson light.
---
When the light cleared, we were standing inside a surprisingly well-kept apartment. The client was an older woman with a kind smile and an overwhelming number of cats.
"Ah, the Devils arrived! My, you're both so young!" she said, clapping her hands.
"We're here to grant your request," I said, doing my best to sound official.
"Yes, yes! I'd like you to help me move some furniture around. My back hasn't been the same since winter…"
Asia looked confused but quickly stepped forward. "We'll help right away, ma'am!"
I smiled as we started. Even though this wasn't glamorous or dangerous, Asia seemed genuinely happy to assist. She carefully moved the smaller items while I took care of the heavier stuff.
"You're very strong, Issei-san," Asia said, watching me lift a bookshelf.
"Training with Rias tends to do that," I replied, setting it down with a grunt.
The old lady brewed us tea afterward, thanking us with a warm smile and a tray of cookies for the road.
We bowed politely and returned via the magic circle, arriving back in the clubroom about an hour later.

Asia looked around, a small smile still on her face. "That was fun."
Rias stood, smiling gently. "You did well, Asia. For your first job, that's an excellent result. Sometimes, helping with the simplest things brings people the most joy."
"She was really sweet," Asia added.
"She gave me cookies," I said, holding up the tray. "I'm calling that a win."
Koneko immediately appeared beside me. "Give me one."
"Hey—!"
She took one anyway.
Akeno stepped forward, brushing some invisible dust off Asia's shoulder. "You've officially completed your first job as a Devil. How do you feel?"
Asia looked up at her, then glanced around at all of us. "Happy. I thought… when I became a Devil, I might lose something. But instead, I think I've gained so much."
Rias smiled proudly. "That's the right attitude."
Asia turned to me. "Thank you for being with me, Issei-san. It was less scary because you were there."
My heart almost leapt out of my chest.
"Y-Yeah… no problem," I muttered, scratching the back of my neck.
"Ise," Rias said, her voice soft but firm. "You're doing well too. Keep this up, and you'll be a proper Devil in no time."
That filled me with warmth. Being told I was doing well… by Rias of all people… yeah, that meant something.
"Well, we should start winding down," Akeno said, stretching. "Tomorrow will be another busy day."
Asia yawned cutely beside me. "Yes… today was wonderful… but I'm sleepy now…"
I smiled at her. "C'mon, let's head home."
"Okay, Issei-san!"
And just like that, Asia's debut as a Devil came to a close.
