I woke up to the sunrise and the sound of birds chirping, I hopped out of bed, to get ready for today's festivities. I should be heartbroken, but I feel alive, exuberant would be how I would describe my mood. I shower and get dressed for the day, I still have to talk to Damien and Jaxon. Before I look for my brother I sit at my desk and start writing letters to the ones I can't give a proper goodbye to, when I finish I leave my room and look for my brother. After searching the pack house I found him leaving Chris's office " Hey Damien can we talk, maybe in your office.? " Yes, follow me." he responded. We walk into his office, he sits behind his desk, I sit in the chair opposite of him. " What's up Tess, do you need something?" he questioned. " No, I wanted to let you know I'm rejecting Chris tonight, and leaving and going to the Red Moon Pack. I hate leaving you all behind, but I can't stay here anymore, it's unhealthy for me and Athena. Ryder came up with this plan to help me get out of here, I have to take this chance, I can't stand the pain anymore." I told him. " I understand Tess you got to do what's best for you. I've met Ryder several times, I know he can keep you safe there. The only thing is I'm going to miss my little sister, I lost one sister when she decided to accept her mate and leave for his clan, the thought of not seeing and talking to you everyday hurts. You're a grown woman now though, so you can make your own decisions nobody will hold you back or stand in your way, I won't let them." he replied. " You know you can still talk to Kendra, Kane's clan is literally right next to our territory, and I know our nephew would love getting to know his strong Uncle Damien. I can't force you to take the initiative to heal that bond between you two, but she is your sister and Kane loves her and she loves him, the Moon Goddess has a reason for making them mates." I said with a pleading voice. He just nodded at me without answering. I grab my letters out of my purse" Can you make sure you give these to everyone after I'm gone, it's my good bye and explanation to everyone I can't talk to before I leave." I asked. He looked through the letters " I'll give Kendra's to Kane at the bar, I don't see one for Jaxon or does he already know?" he asked. " Jax is leaving with me, I talked to him but he insists on going with me." I answered. He looked at me with understanding and stood up , he walked over to me, I stood up and he gave me a tight hug " I love you sis, if you ever need me I'm a phone call away, I'll be by your side in a heartbeat." I know, I love you too Damien, I'll miss you more than you know." tears filling my eyes threatening to fall. We started to go our separate ways and I called over my shoulder " If you're going to lunch could you have Alyse bring me a plate to my room please?" " Sure thing." he replied back. About a half hour after I returned to my room Alyse walked in with two plates " Would you like to have lunch on the balcony?" she asked. " Yes, that would be nice." I smiled at her. We walk out on my balcony and she sits our plates down on the small table " I can't believe this will be our last lunch together." she said sadly. " Alyse we'll have lunch together again, I'm only moving a couple hours away, I'm not leaving the country. Do you think I could survive without seeing you, besides we have phones we'll talk and text everyday." I say holding her hand. " I'm sorry, I am happy you're taking control of your life and not letting Chris dictate you. It's because I'll miss you horribly, we've been inseparable since we were children." she responded. " I'll miss you too Alyse, we'll get together often I promise." I reassure her. We finish lunch and she stands up gathering our plates " Well we better start getting ready for that nasty bitch's coronation slash mating ceremony. They certainly were ready to rush everything, I wonder if they realize a double celebration is just tacky." she says her voice dripping with disgust. " Why don't you bring your things here to my room and we'll get ready together." I offer. " Sounds like a plan, it'll give us a little extra time together." she replied happily. She rushed out to gather her dress and accessories, while I gathered my strength to get through all of this tonight.
