Chapter 287 - Chapter 287

Behind The Spotlight Chapter 287

"Nothing, I just wanted to hear your voice," Collin said, which made Lila bite her lip in happiness. She already missed Collin, even though they had just seen each other earlier.

"Will you return tonight?" She was hopeful.

"..."

Now, that was a difficult question. Collin stared at Aida and Evelyn, who were grieving. He was needed here.

"What do you think I should do?" Collin returned the question. He honestly didn't know how to answer.

"You rarely spend time with your family, so you can stay there." Lila liked Collin when he was being nice to his family. That was the main reason she liked him in the first place, he was a selfless guy.

"Alright. If you miss me, you can contact me. I love you."

"I love you too," Lila said back, holding herself back from squealing.

The next day, after spending the night with his family, Collin immediately returned to GSG to check on his girlfriend. Lila seemed quite busy, completely unaware that her idol had passed away.

She was confused when she saw her secretary looking depressed with reddened eyes. That was the moment she heard that Princess Diane had died in a car crash.

Lila didn't cry, but she was deeply distraught and couldn't function well.

Collin comforted her, promising that he would be naked by the end of the day... Apparently, Lila wanted "deep" skinship whenever she was sad, something she had just learned that day. It took her three days to adjust to the tragic news.

...

Murray Fred nervously flipped the pages of the script and read his lines while trying to keep a low profile.

He couldn't believe he had reached the third round of auditions this time. Now, he was in the hallway of Whiner Bruh Studio, surrounded by many actors sitting in a row of chairs, waiting for their names to be called.

Murray was a new client of GSG. He had actually applied to many agencies, such as AAC and ANT, but he hadn't even received a call for an audition. Those agencies had probably looked at his picture and resume and deemed him unworthy. He didn't look particularly promising, despite his attractive appearance. Well, Hollywood was filled with handsome people, and someone like Murray couldn't easily stand out.

To be honest, the only reason he decided to pursue acting was because he was handsome. But he quickly realized Hollywood didn't lack anyone like him.

So he tried applying to smaller agencies in the hopes of getting accepted. Then, he received a call from Golden Spotlight Group. Out of one hundred new talents who applied, Murray was one of five who passed the audition and became clients of GSG.

Initially, Murray held a mediocre opinion regarding GSG. It was just a new agency in Hollywood. He wasn't expecting much, as long as he got jobs.

Murray had made a promise to his parents that if he didn't make it big in Hollywood within three years, he would return to Alaska and help with their halibut fishing business. Their family owned a commercial fishing boat.

At first, Murray had been hopeful when he stepped into Los Angeles. But things quickly became serious when he realized being handsome wasn't enough to secure roles.

He lacked connections, which he needed the most. So applying to an agency was the best decision, yet GSG was brand new, and Murray wasn't confident they could give him what he wanted.

Things changed completely when he was introduced to his talent agent: Arnold Johnson!

Arnold introduced himself as an ex-talent agent from ANT. And he wasn't just any talent agent, he was an executive! To make it better, he handled clients like Jolyne Robs, Brody Paige, and Pulse Static. Murray also watched Unnatural, so he was shocked that Director Tom was Arnold's client too.

Arnold had confidently told him that he could make him a star, making Murray feel like he was walking on clouds.

Arnold then gave him three scripts, planning for Murray to audition for each of them.

The results?

Murray didn't pass the first project. He barely reached the second round of auditions, as the movie was looking for a well-known cast.

The second project didn't go well either.

Yet despite the rejections, Arnold didn't blame him and encouraged him instead, saying this was normal and he shouldn't be disheartened.

And now, Murray had passed the third round of auditions for a brand-new project by Whiner Bruh Studio!

The movie was going to be based on a comic book superhero titled Justice Guy. Murray knew the character well because he read the comics.

This wasn't the first time Justice Guy had received movie adaptations. It had a trilogy back in the 80s, and it was profitable, making Justice Guy the most famous superhero in the world, even more famous than Bat Guy and Spider Guy.

Whiner Bruh Studio wanted to revive the franchise and was looking for new actors to be the face of the superhero genre.

The reason they wanted a new actor to play Justice Guy was financial.

Basically, a new actor commanded a lower salary, and Whiner Bruh Studio intended to lock the actor into a three-picture deal with an affordable pay rate. They wanted to make a Justice Guy trilogy while keeping the budget tightly controlled.

Because of this, most actors in the hallway were fresh faces in Hollywood. Some had starred in a couple of minor movies, but none were well-known.

Murray was actually surprised he had reached the third round. He was nervous for good reason, the atmosphere in the hallway was suffocating, as everyone around him was a competitor.

Suddenly, the door opened and the assistant director glanced out at them.

"The audition will be paused for a while. Someone important is showing up."

Right as the assistant director made the announcement, a group of people walked down the hallway.

It was none other than Axel Gunner, followed by his entourage.
