Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A Princess Does Not Deserve Love

"But grandfather, have you ever thought that back when my father and the Haotian Sect had such a bloody feud, your agreement with Tang Chen would lead to today's disastrous consequences?"

"Yes, my father didn't die at Tang Hao's hands, but to outsiders, it looks like he did." Qian Renxue's eyes flashed with a sharp coldness as she said bitterly, "Because of your agreement with Tang Chen, you spared the Haotian Sect, but they never remembered your kindness. They won't think that the reason you struck the Haotian Sect was because their hands killed the Martial Soul Hall's leader. In the end, you let them go due to that agreement. These sewer rats only remember the oppression we put on them!"

"They only remember that, in front of Tang Chen, you were a coward. You didn't even dare to break the pact Tang Chen made back then. To the world, he is a towering hero, while you are a coward."

"You spared the Haotian Sect back then, but now, when has the Haotian Sect ever spared us? They've hunted us down to the last, and the thousand-year legacy of the Martial Soul Hall is utterly destroyed!"

After saying this, Qian Renxue looked toward the tombstone of Bibi Dong:

"Mother, I know the grievances you carried in your heart. I understood too late."

"I now understand everything. My father forced his burdens on you, which is why I exist. So you hate me, dislike me, but you still lowered your pride to beg the enemy for a chance for me to live. Yet, I don't think all the mistakes were caused by my father. Do you know? If I were my father, I'd also stop you from being with Yu Xiaogang!"

"Mother, do you really think you were right in everything?" Qian Renxue asked through tears.

However, the cold tombstone gave no answer to her question.

"You are the Sacred Maiden of the Martial Soul Hall, yet because of a ridiculous love, you fell for a worthless man!"

"My father, Qian Xunji, hated you, but he ultimately paid a price. This is cause and effect. But why did he do it? You, a Sacred Maiden and the hope of the Martial Soul Hall, were trained and supported by the Hall, yet you betrayed it for a worthless man, for love. You wanted to elope with that worthless man. That's the cause! However, killing my father wasn't enough for you — you wanted to drag the Martial Soul Hall down with you."

"The irony is that Yu Xiaogang, the one you loved with all your heart until death, is now lost in his own glory and has forgotten you!"

"I don't hate you for these things, because we made the same mistakes and suffered the consequences. But the person you thought of until your dying breath has already forgotten you. Mother, and little sister Hulièna — do you know? A princess does not deserve love!"

She spoke to herself: "Why should you enjoy wealth and honor? It's because when this family needed you to sacrifice, you had to give everything. A princess's marriage is not her own choice. She cannot marry the one she loves; she can only marry someone who brings benefit to the family and the kingdom!"

As Qian Renxue spoke of her mother and Hulièna, she was also speaking about herself.

The Offering Hall had great hopes for her, and her grandfather sacrificed his life for her to become a god. Though she knew she was powerless to resist loving Tang San, she was born into the Qian family, raised by the Martial Soul Hall, blessed with an innate twenty-level talent envied by all on the continent, and possessed the divine Martial Soul of the Six-Winged Angel — everything others could only dream of.

Yet she bore the fate of the Martial Soul Hall's rise and fall, the hopes of generations of Offering Hall elders, and the price her grandfather paid with his life. But because of a ridiculous love, she repeatedly showed mercy to her mortal enemy Tang San, causing the complete destruction of the Martial Soul Hall!

Recalling her former stirring feelings for Tang San, a trickle of blood appeared at the corner of Qian Renxue's mouth as she mocked herself: "What a ridiculous love. Damn this world that offers no medicine for regret."

The Martial Soul Hall's last heir of the Six-Winged Angel, Qian Renxue, filled with sorrow and hatred, ultimately shared the same fate as Hulièna.

Tang San did keep an eye on Qian Renxue and Hulièna. After all, "If you don't remove the root, the weeds will grow again" — a principle held by people in the martial world. Tang San acted decisively, and if he offended someone, it was completely.

After Qian Renxue's death, Tang San no longer concerned himself with the remnants of the Martial Soul Hall. The remaining forces in Martial Soul City were no longer a threat.

He could finally rest easy!

As the Sea God — a divine position gained through faith recharge — Tang San felt the amplification brought by the continent's faith in him. The path of faith: the more followers, the greater the benefits.

After becoming a god, Tang San also learned from Shura about the news of the Divine Realm. Before heading there, Douluo Continent and Douluo Star would be his future bases. Tang San began planning for his future!

First, he used his divine sense to search the Douluo Continent and, together with the Shrek Seven Devils, sought divine inheritance.

The Shrek Seven Devils traveled across the continent, each eventually finding their own divine inheritance.

Among them, Dai Mubai obtained the inheritance of the God of War; Zhu Zhuqing received the inheritance of the God of Speed; Ning Rongrong and Oscar respectively obtained the Nine-Colored Celestial Maiden and God of Food inheritances.

Ma Hongjun originally had the first-level God of Fire inheritance, but due to his usual laziness, he failed to inherit the Fire God title successfully and had to settle for the second-level God Phoenix inheritance.

The illustrious world's greatest sect, Tang Sect, Ning Rongrong brought the now aged Ning Fengzhi before Tang San.

"Greetings, Your Majesty the Sea God," Ning Fengzhi said respectfully.

Tang San nodded slightly and said, "Please, sit."

Ning Fengzhi and Ning Rongrong found seats, and Tang San asked, "What brings Sect Master Ning to my sect?"

"I heard from Rongrong that a first-level god has the power to resurrect the dead. Therefore, I wish to humbly request whether you could resurrect Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo?"

"Rongrong and Oscar's light of resurrection can only be used once, so…" Ning Fengzhi asked hopefully.

Tang San frowned and said, "I'm very sorry. Resurrecting souls from hell violates the laws of the Divine Realm. Sect Master Ning, you know I am Shura, the Law-Enforcing God among the five great gods. As an enforcer of divine law, how could I break it?"

Ning Fengzhi saw Tang San's clear refusal regarding resurrecting Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo.

He looked bitter but helpless, saying regretfully, "In that case, I have been rude. Your Majesty the Sea God, I take my leave!"
