Chapter 183 - C89: Promises and Possibilities

James refused to be swayed by her whispered proposition, his resolve unwavering despite the desire he could feel radiating from her body. "I'd rather spend valuable time with you doing something... else than indulge your insatiable urges," he said with gentle firmness, though his voice carried undertones of affection that softened the rejection.

Right now, they found themselves lying face to face on Victoria's expansive bed, the silk sheets cool beneath their bodies. Victoria could see every detail of James's expression, could trace the curve of his smile with her eyes, while he remained blindfolded, trusting and vulnerable in the darkness she had created for him. Both wore matching goofy smiles, the kind that came from pure happiness and the intoxicating rush of mutual love finally acknowledged.

James reached for her hand, intertwining their fingers with careful deliberation. His touch was reverent, as if he were handling something infinitely precious. "You have my heart, Tori," he said, his voice carrying the weight of complete surrender. "I'm literally at your mercy. So I beg of you, please, don't break my heart and trust."

His free hand moved to press gently against her chest, right where her heart beat steadily beneath his palm. The gesture was intimate and symbolic, a physical manifestation of the emotional exchange taking place between them. "I will uphold your heart too and cherish it," he continued, his voice thick with emotion. "I promise you that I will be a man worthy of you and your love."

He lifted her hand to his lips, kissing her knuckles with tender reverence before his thumb began tracing gentle circles across her skin. The simple caress sent warmth spiraling through Victoria's entire body, not from desire but from the profound love contained in such a small gesture.

Victoria understood his fears completely because they mirrored her own. The terror of heartbreak and betrayal lurked in the shadows of every great love, but she knew with absolute certainty that they would navigate through whatever challenges arose. They had already learned so much together, had discovered how to pleasure one another both physically and emotionally. This was simply the next step in their journey.

Unable to resist the magnetic pull she felt toward him, Victoria crawled into his arms, curling herself into a protective pose against his chest. James's arms came around her automatically, as if his body had been programmed to shelter and protect her. The familiar embrace was like coming home, like finally fitting the missing piece of herself to James in the puzzle board exclusively made for them.

"You took the words right out of my mouth, honey," she said, her voice slightly muffled against his chest. Then, with characteristic Victoria intensity, she added, "If you break my heart, I swear I will destroy you."

James chuckled, the sound vibrating through his chest and into her body where she lay pressed against him. The deep rumble was both comforting and arousing, a reminder of the powerful man who held her so gently. "Woah, is that both a threat and a warning?" he asked, clearly finding her protective ferocity amusing rather than intimidating.

Emboldened by his laughter and feeling a surge of possessive energy, Victoria emerged from her protective cushion and straddled James, settling herself on his stomach with deliberate confidence. She felt him adjust beneath her, accommodating her movement and finding a comfortable position despite his visual impairment.

Her hands began roaming his torso, mapping the familiar territory of muscle and warmth that had become her personal sanctuary. Then, with playful aggression, she started poking his chest, each jab emphasizing her words.

"It seems you don't get it, honey," she drawled, her voice taking on a dangerous edge that James recognized as pure Victoria Sharp. "Me and you will be together forever, it's until death do us part."

James went completely still beneath her, his breath catching as the full impact of her declaration hit him. Did she truly understand the magnitude of what she was saying? The permanence she was suggesting. "Tori have you finally lost it?" he asked, though his voice carried wonder rather than genuine concern.

Victoria continued as if he hadn't spoken, her possessiveness growing with each word. "After me, my dear, will only be me. There can only be me." Her finger traced his lower lip with predatory precision before slipping into his mouth, the intimate gesture both tender and claiming.

"There's no such thing as breakup for us, and neither will I allow you to be with another woman. You belong solely to me and no one else." She scoffed, as if finding something darkly amusing in her own intensity, though there was nothing humorous about the fierce protectiveness blazing in her eyes.

"You've ruined me for other men, James. After wrecking my pussy and taming every part of me, there can only be you for me." James could feel the weight of her gaze as she looked down at him, could sense the possessive fire burning in her eyes even though he couldn't see it.

His breath hitched, his heart accelerating to a pace that bordered on dangerous. "You said a lot, Tori. Do you..." he hesitated almost afraid to voice the question. "Do you understand the severity of what you are implying, or are you just..."

"I'm very much aware and sober, my love," she interjected firmly, cutting off any suggestion that her words were born of momentary passion rather than deep conviction. "I meant every word."

To emphasize her point, she leaned down and kissed him, a short but intense kiss riddled with promises and declarations. It was a seal on everything she had just said, a physical confirmation of her emotional commitment.

James didn't want to get his hopes up, but Victoria wasn't backing down or hinting at any misconceptions. She truly meant her words, was genuinely open to the possibility of... no, not a possibility, but a future reality. The realization stunned him into silence as he tried to process the enormity of what she was offering.

Just how much did she love him? What other confirmation could he possibly need from her? He felt selfish and greedy for asking for reassurance about heartbreak when she was willing to envision an entire future with him. What other motivation did he need to become better, to give her the happy life she deserved?

"Tori," he began, his voice soft with wonder, "when did you start loving me?"

Victoria didn't hesitate in her response. "Probably at the start of our relationship, but I fully realized my love for you on your birthday."

That long. She had loved him for that long, and now he could be absolutely certain of her feelings. A smile spread across his face as he pulled her down for another kiss. Initially it was slow and sweet, a gentle exploration of newfound emotional territory. But gradually their profound emotions seeped into the contact, their love seeking expression through the intimate connection of lips and breath and shared space.

Their tender moment was abruptly interrupted by the sharp sound of James's phone buzzing insistently. Victoria reluctantly pulled away from the kiss, reaching for the offensive device with the intention of silencing it and tossing it aside. But as she lifted the phone, she caught sight of the message displayed on the lock screen, and her irritation transformed into excitement.

She pulled back from their embrace, reading the message quickly before turning to signal James with barely contained enthusiasm. "Hey James, I think you might want to see this."

James immediately pulled the blindfold off, his eyes adjusting quickly to the room's brightness. He took the phone from Victoria's hands, clicking on the message and reading it in rapid succession. As the meaning sank in, the device fell from his nerveless fingers, landing softly on the bed between them.

He turned to look at Victoria, who was already smiling with radiant happiness. "I got it," he said, his voice filled with disbelief and joy. "I found someone who's willing to invest."

James pulled her into a fierce hug, and she reciprocated immediately, wrapping her arms around him with equal enthusiasm. "You deserve it, James. You worked so hard," Victoria praised, her voice thick with pride and genuine happiness for his success.

"No, I should thank you for your support and belief in me," James said, holding her even tighter against him, as if she were his anchor in this moment of triumph.

Victoria faltered slightly at his words, a shadow of guilt crossing her features as she remembered her earlier attempts to sabotage his efforts. Why had she ever tried to undermine him? She shook her head firmly, pushing away the regret. It was all in the past now, and they could move forward together.

"Congratulations," she said instead, focusing on the present moment and his achievement.

"They scheduled a meeting for tomorrow, and I had weekend plans with you," James whined like a disappointed child, his voice carrying genuine distress at the conflict between opportunity and desire.

Victoria chuckled at his adorable petulance. "It's alright, go. I will be here waiting," she assured him with gentle encouragement.

James pulled back from the hug to look her straight in the eyes, searching for any signs of disappointment or resentment. "You sure? Won't you miss my attention?"

Victoria held his cheeks in her hands, her touch tender and reassuring. "Haha, very funny. This is about your future, James. Our future." She said the word 'our' so tenderly that James felt himself melting under her touch, overwhelmed by the love and support radiating from her.

"So go. It will be a couple of days, but I know you'll come back successful, and I will be here waiting," Victoria encouraged, her voice filled with absolute confidence in his abilities.

James smiled with pure happiness, leaning in to kiss her with passionate gratitude. "Wait for me. I will go make a name for myself and come back to you."

Victoria nodded, her eyes shining with love and pride. "Hmm, better."

James kissed her again, unable to contain the overwhelming emotions coursing through him. "I love you, Tori."

She responded without hesitation, her voice carrying the weight of absolute truth and endless devotion: "I love you too."
