Lux closed his eyes for a split second.

Gold light flared in his other hand.

A second blade materialized in his opposite hand, sleek and faintly rose-gold, humming softly.

Zavros stared.
"Absolutely not."
Lux did not listen.
The Blood Hunger Daggers trembled violently. The rusted siblings on the shelf beside it began to vibrate too.
The air around him bent inward.
Reality tightened.
The blades in his hands hovered slightly, then the rusted dagger from the rack tore free from its containment seal and shot toward him.
Zavros raised a hand defensively. "Lux—"
Too late.
All four daggers hovered before him.
Gold.
Rose.
Dark crimson.
And rust-turned-blood.
The wind roared.
