Chaos hummed beneath elegance.
Lyra and the servants had been buzzing for the last two hours. There were footsteps echoing through the gallery floors, faint laughter, a glass or two clinking somewhere in the distance. Scent of garlic and citrus, fresh herbs and fire-roasted meat filled the air like a dinner date with temptation itself. Ribbons of demonic sigils glowed above the hallway arches—minor illusions made to impress mortals, subtle enough to be called ambiance.
The prep for the housewarming party was in full swing.
